5、 detailed background Music and Dance Academy is a secondary school of Weinan Normal University, which was established on the basis of the original music major of Arts Department in February 2012. And the Academy is constructed to meet the development needs of school and the present situation of musi

6、c and dance major. The establishment of the Music and Dance Academy has provided new opportunities to promote the development of the subjects like music and dance, to raise the research quality and to ensure education quality of teaching. Since enrollment began in 1999, the Music and Dance Academy h

7、as developed into a school consist of two main departments, which are Department of music and Department of dance. Now, there are four undergraduate majors, which are musicology, music performance, dance and dance performance, and a professional major called music education. The Music and Dance Acad

8、emy has been accredited to award a Bachelor of Arts degree. Also, there are rich experiences of school running and strong faculty in education. There are 7 teaching laboratory, which are digital music laboratory, digital music recording studio, music hall and dance studio. At the same time, three te

9、aching practice bases and four stage practice bases have been established. There are 1053 full-time college students in school who are come from 15 provinces and autonomous regions of the country. There are 58 in-service staff, 51 full-time faculty members including 6 professors and associate profes

10、sors and 26 instructors, 16 of which have masters degree and 12 of which is masters degree in reading. There are two research institutes which are local drama research center of shaanxi province and shaanxi local art institute. In the recent three years, teachers of our academy have took charge of m

11、ore than 20 provincial scientific research project, published more than 200 scientific papers, and a number of published books and textbooks. The teachers and students have won more than 300 collective and individual awards in national, provincial and school activities and all kinds of professional

12、competition, more than fifty percent of which are awards and honors at or above the provincial level. In the development process of Music and Dance Academy, a characteristic of giving priority to normal education and training in more direction has gradually formed. The college students art troupe es

13、tablished in 2011, which is affiliated to Music and Dance Academy, has explored a new road for art teaching practice. During the Spring Festival in 2012, our college students art troupe was invited to a friendly exchange visit to Ireland, UK, and our performance achieved a complete success and was w

14、idely praised. In April 2012, we held two song and dance performances, which are called spring of WNU and spring of Weinan. The performances received warm praise and were fully affirmed. In July 2012, we went to Yushu Tibetan autonomous prefecture in Qinghai to participate in sympathy performance. T
