6、e was helmed by brian de palma and was all espionage with light action. action maestro john woo took the second one and made an explosive and entertaining action sequel even if it was a little over cooked. j.j. abrams makes his feature film directorial debut with mission impossible 3, which is a lit

7、tle bit of espionage and a little bit of action. for those who don t know abrams, he started out writing films like armageddon and regarding henry. he then broke into the television scene with alias, a pretty popular show. he became very well known recently for his latest show. abrams is the creator

8、 of lost, one of my favorite shows. so, i was excited to see his first movie. m:i-3 has ethan hunt trying to settle down and start a normal life, but he is thrown back into his old job when an arms dealer played by phillip seymour hoffman wants him to track down the rabbit s foot. the rabbit s foot

9、is some kind of weapon of madestruction, and if hunt doesn t retrieve it in 48 hours his fiance will be killed. what follows are explosive action sequences that sing the right tune to satisfy all of our action appetites. the movie is good, but i couldn t help feeling like something was lacking. i tr

10、ied to pinpoint it, and the only thing that i could come up with was that it lacked style. sure it had lost written all over it. the tight close ups, starting the film by showing the ending and then rewinding back to the beginning, getting michael giacchino to compose an almost identical score to lo

11、st, even re-creating a scene from lost at the end, but still the movie didn t feel like it had an overall style. the reason why i liked m:i-2 was that it had john woo style. the slow motion build up, the doves, and of course hans zimmer s amazing music. i m just saying that mission impossible 3 is g

23、staurant offers very exceptional service, for instance when the waitresses are asked to order dishes they kneel rather than stand, which, unlike the other restaurants I have been to, makes it easier for the customers to hear them speak. Moreover, Fridays friendly services to the customers help them

24、to make better choices when ordering dishes. I remembered when I went to Fridays last time; the waitress kindly described the items on the menu with precise details. 28、rs to have seen how Friday kissed him, embraced him, hugged him, cried, laughed, halloed, jumped about, danced, sung; and then sung and jumped about again, like a distracted creature. It was a good while before I could make him speak to me.” This is my favourite chapter in the whole book. It is hard

29、 to see why Friday is an ex-savage when he can have personalities more praiseworthy than many civilized people, viz. Crusoe himself. “When he (Friday) went to him (Fridays father), he would sit down by him, open his breast, and hold his fathers head close to his bosom, half an hour together, to nour

30、ish it; then he took his arms and ankles, which were numbed and stiff with the binding, and rubbed them with his hands.” Furthermore, Fridays expression of loyalty in asking Crusoe to kill him rather than leave him is more heartfelt than anything Crusoe ever says or does. Crusoe, on the absolute con

31、trary, seems incapable of deep feelings, as shown by his account of leaving his familyhe never shows any emotions. After a moving lecture from Robinsons father about his future, he still decided to follow his own wandering ambition. Careless was he about the wishes of his parents to keep him alive a

32、nd prosperous, as he was the only child left in the family. When he came back from the island which he had lived on for twenty eight years, he found that it had been too late to tell his parents that he was still alive, but yet again he did not feel sorry for them; he also did not feel sorry for the

33、 two people who had to live in misery for nearly thirty years under the allusion all of their sons were dead. He had the same feelings for his wife: when he was married, he said it was “not either to my disadvantage or dissatisfaction”, implying that it was also neither to his advantage nor his satisfaction. Moreover, after his wife died,
