Teacher research so that I can apply my knowledge and theory into practice , which I learned from Ningxia TV University.2. Summary of the preliminary research This part of my study was conducted during May 1/2006_May
5、14/2006.2.1. problem The problem I have in my teaching is that most of my students do not like doing the homework practice . I assign then to do after class .During my teaching, the problem identified was really a serious problem .My preliminary measures research confirmed that there were three main
6、 reasons that allow for students reluctance to do the homework assignments out of class .Firstly :some students didnt feel interested in practicing homework English alone after class .They thought could not communicate with other about homework information .Secondly , some students had some difficul
7、ties in doing it .So they hoped that they could do it after class under more concrete direction of the teacher.Thirdly , most of students felt overloaded because of a heaver homework assignments .The problem had been troubling me for a long time . Now I determined to find a solution to the problem ,
8、 In my study ,I used four methods of analysis .2.2.1. Analytic method Though careful analysis :I was led to a series of questions .For instance ,I find a majority of my students do not like doing this assignment and I wanted to know why it should be the case .And whether they thought it import and n
9、ecessary to do difficult homework or easy .If they thought it is boring to do it that copy words or sentence .So I assigned my students to do was different birds of homework.2.2.2. Cause analysis In this situation . I asked myself a series of questions and tried to provide some answers to them .Why
10、most of my students didnt like do homework . I assigned them to do after class ? In order to know more about this issue . I designed a cause exploration procedure like this :Is it because they dont like homework ? Maybe.Is it because the homework test are boring design ?Is it because they are not mo
11、tivated ? Maybe. Is it because they have some difficult unsolved by themselves ?Is it because they have a lot of other thing to do ?Is it because they dont think homework are important?2.2.3 QuestionnaireI make a pilot investigation in this respect to know more about the situation for this purpose .
12、I design a research procedure like the follows ,one day .I gave them a new kind homework and give them lots of means to do it about lesson8 and from group voluntary to make new answer . The title make homework by your situation .The next day .I got the following feed back :Only ten students finished
13、 by rules of text .Only three students make new way finished it The rest did not do the homework .Then I asked them my questions .One was why some students had finished the exercise .The students responses :Firstly .those had done homework said they cant enjoyed to do it and it cant practice the tex
14、t .Secondly, they felt it wasnt interesting way to do it .those who had done New ways said: had done it not used for students because the lesson were interesting .we do everything in the class, so now we will review The new lesson .Thirdly one of them said : it very difficult to do it .some of my st
15、udents didnt like to do homework .I asked them to do after class The students reason : a part of them think of to do English homeworkWas not useful .As Chinese we should learn Chinese well .not English Fourth .some of students didnt do it better .I design a questionnaire to find out why it should be
16、 so .I intend to got more detailed .more excelled opinions from all the students thought the questionnaireAnd I asked different English level to try out the questionnaire When all those date come in .I made statistical evaluation .The result showed that over 60of students thought regularly homework
17、.were boring .and didnt do it better .and that 75 them thought it didnt used for lesson thenceforth, I thought the students were clearing about the important and necessity of homework. But them might give up againstDifficulties that they cant overcome .so they lost confidence and interest .2.2.4 : B
18、rainstorming When I was engaged in the problem analysis ,I consulted my supervisor Bei Yunxia and often talked to my classmate about all the problems I met .they give me a lot pf advice and help so that I pondered the more deeply and carefully .After a lengthy problem analysis ,I determined to launc

27、students ,then they do it more easy more exercise .3.4 : check their homework .I decided to check their homework everyday ,because students would usually do better under supervision of their teacher or partner .Sometime I asked them to do homework in class ,Sometime I praised them in class .3.5 : re
28、duce their pressure I decided to simplify the students homework .The students often complained :they had too much homework not only English homework but also the homework of other subjects .They thought finished them before English .So I adopted two effective measure to reduce their pressure .4 、Hom
