2、s. The following lesson plans are some examples for gifted students to practice different reading skills. The procedure will follow three stages: pre-reading, while-reading and post-reading and the subject is the friendly city-Kaohsiung. Based on students needs and competence, teachers can adapt the

3、se examples and design more creative exercises and activities for their gifted students. Through the reading instruction, gifted students will be able to apply ）ssuitable reading skills, comprehend different texts effectively and read texts more independently and actively. 對於資優學生而言，英語閱讀教學的目的不只是老師在課堂

4、上幫助他們理解文章內容和增加文章內容的深度與廣度，老師更需要引導學生善用閱讀技巧和策略，以使他們在課堂外也能有效率地進入和探索不同類型的文章。閱讀技巧和策略的培養可以增強資優學生對文章內容的理解能力，並可以使他們成為獨立自主和主動的閱讀學習者，有助於他們獲取高深廣博的知識。在發展閱讀技巧一書中，Grellet （ 2003）介紹了許多不同類型的閱讀理解活動以發展各種閱讀技巧（如預測、參與、略讀、精讀、推論、歸納.等），老師在設計閱讀活動和學習單時可加以參考。以下所列舉的教案所包含的活動和學習單將依照閱讀教學活動三階段（閱讀前、閱讀中、閱讀後），並針對不同的閱讀技巧來設計。希望透過這些閱讀活動和

Pre-reading （5 minutes） （1） Show some pictures of the tourist sites in Ka

17、Kaohsiung citizens and Mayor Hsieh contributed photos of their smiley faces for the refreshing artistic creation of SMILE 2001-the Wall of Hope that shines a ray of hope on the city. Lotus Lake This lovely man-made lake is situated between Kueishan （Turtle Mountain ） and Panpingshan （Half-screen Mou

18、ntain）. Various Chinese-style structures located in and aroud the lake give it an intensely traditional Chinese flavor, to which a touch of mystery is added as night falls. The crowds of visitors here are especially thick during holiday periods. Hsitzuwan Beach Hsitzuwan Beach is located to the sout

19、hwest of Shoushan, about a 20-minute drive from city center. The beach itself has great natural beauty, and the lights of fishing boats embellish the sea and attrace large numbers of visitors, especially at night. Kaohsiung Harbor At the fourth largest container port in the world, Kaohsiung Harbor p

20、lays an important role to Taiwans economic development. The Harbor currently has a channel lane of 18 kilometers, available for boats 100,000 tons. There are 97 docks, with a total length of 20.570 meters. A cruise around Kaohsiung Harbor will let you see the odernization of the Harbor and experienc

22、ucture abundantly expresses a deep reverence for Chinas beloved sage. Cheng Ching Lake This popular lake, located on the outskirts of Kaohsiung city, has an area of 103 hectares. Together with the surrounding park, the totel land and water area is about 375 hectares. Attractions on and around the la

23、ke include bridges （especially the famous Nine-corner Bridge）, pavilions, a majestic pagoda, flowers, and birds. Among the lakes facilities are an aquarium and a youth activity center, and the palace-style Grand Hotel and a golf course are located near the shoreline. Shoushan Zoo This Zoo contains m

24、ore than 100 species of rare and wonderful animals from all over the world. In addition, shaded pathways lead to a number of quaint temples and shrines hidden amidst the forests that cover the slopes. The night-time view of Kaohsiung from the top of shoushan is another special treat. Kaohsiung Museu

25、m of Fine Arts Opened in June 1994 in Neiweipei Cultural Park, the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts is one of the citys newest attractions. Its outdoor Sculpture Grounds displays various kinds of artworks, while inside the galleries are a collection of famous calligraphic works as well as exhibitions of classical and contemporary arts.
