1、Figure 3.1: Methodology overview3.2 Project FlowThis project consists of four major steps which are stated below. The steps are:i. Study the Solar Cooking ConceptAs a prelude in my research, first and foremost, I studied about the solar to get basic understanding on the solar energy, concentration o
2、f the thermal, solar application, types of solar cookers and the solar green house concept. It is important to gather some ideas of the fundamentals of solar cooking. I furthered my studies to get detail information about just the box type solar cooker to be focused on. Then, the knowledge obtained
3、will be suited with the fabricated solar cooker which is the Quintuplet Exposure Box-Type Solar Cooker.ii. Product FabricationThe product fabrication was done at Mechanical Engineering Workshop of UiTM and it consumed approximately two weeks to complete. Most of the raw materials used were obtained
4、from the workshop except the wheels which bought from the outside. For the cooker, it consists of two different sizes of assembled glasses. 7、 testing is analyzed to find its heat energy stored. Results between single and double-layered are also compared. For the hypothesis, higher cookers temperature will store more heat energy, and the double-layered cooker will produce better cooking efficiency compared to single-layered cooker. 3.3 Re
8、search ConceptThis project will focus on the greenhouse concept where the energy from sun will pass through the glasses of quintuplet solar cooker and at the same time, the heat inside cooker travels back into the atmosphere, but the gases in atmosphere will block some of the heat from escaping to t
9、he outside. So when the sunlight continuously strikes the cooker, the heat inside will become warmer and warmer until the temperature difference between inside and outside is obvious.3.4 Design ConceptThe research of the Quintuplet Exposure Box-Type Solar Cookers concept is based on the ordinary box
10、-type solar cooker which is available in the market, but the difference is it being designed to have five sides that are exposed to the sunlight compared to only one.Figure 3.2: Comparison between quintuplet cookers and available cookerThe concept on designing these cookers are made by considering f
11、actors such as easy to build, low cost, safety, stability and user friendly. These Quintuplet Exposure Box-Type Solar Cookers are in rectangular shape. They are supported by a trolley which designed to have a door at the underneath the cooker will be placed, so users can transfer foods inside it bec
12、ome easier. The trolley has four wheels to provide portability of the cooker. Catia P3 V5R17 software is used in the parts design and products assembly. Figure 3.3 shows the conceptual design of Double-Layered Quintuplet Exposure Box-Type Solar Cooker which consist of the assembly of trolley, glass
