5、DNAtrend provides versatile methods to browse and analyze historical data. It is instrumental in predicting the state of the process in near future and in following the progression of a modification or disturbance in process.You can open DNAtrend by selecting it on the action menu. The graphs to be

6、examined are selected by dragging tags from ordinary picture windows to DNAtrend.You can perform the following operations in DNAtrend: Add a graph from a picture window Delete a graph Use a hairline to display an instantaneous value Zoom the trend Set the start or end time Set the span Open a trend

Event dataOperationsHow to Open DNAtrendWhen DNAtrend is opened by selecting the corresponding command on the action menu, the trend of the target loop will be automatically displayed.Proceed as follows: Right-click the target loop in a picture window and select DNAtrend

14、 on the action menu. DNAtrend will open on the desktop in a dedicated window.Toolbar OperationsHow to Open a Trend PictureWhen you want to open a previously saved trend picture, proceed as follows:1. Click the Open Picture button on the toolbar. A drop-down list containing the hierarchy paths of the

15、 saved pictures will open below the button:2. Click the arrow button and select a picture on the list.ORClick the box and type the hierarchy path.3. Press the ENTER key. The selected picture will open in the DNAtrend window.If the hierarchy path was incorrect, the following dialog will appear on the

16、 desktop:Click OK to close the dialog.How to Save a Copy of a Trend PictureYou can save a copy of a trend picture with a different name for later examination.Proceed as follows:1. Click the Save As. button on the toolbar. The Save Picture dialog will open on the desktop:2. Click the Name box and typ

17、e a name for the trend picture. If you want to save the picture in a hierarchy, enter the hierarchy path in front of the name. For example, in path PM1/Drying/Trend1, PM1 is the name of the module, Drying the name of the process area, and Trend1 the name of the trend picture to be saved. The name of

18、 the picture cannot contain characters & : * or ?.3. If you want to give the picture an optional title, you can enter it in the Title box.4. If you want to give the picture an optional description, you can enter it in the Description box.5. If you want to retain the trend picture as it is at the tim

19、e of saving, click to select the Snapshot check box. If the picture is later re-opened, its data will not be retrieved from the data source but the saved data will be used instead.6. If you want the trend picture to be automatically deleted after a given time has elapsed, click to select the Tempora

20、ry Picture check box and enter the storage time in days.Cancel cancels the operation and closes the dialog.7. Click the Save button. A dialog will open on the desktop to confirm a successful save:8. Click the OK button to close the dialog.How to Save a Trend PictureTrends displayed in DNAtrend can b

21、e saved as trend pictures. When you have modified a trend, you can save the changes you made.Proceed as follows:1. Click the Save button on the toolbar. A dialog will open on the desktop:2. Click the Yes button. A dialog will open on the desktop to confirm a successful save:3. Click the OK button to

22、 close the dialog.How to Delete a Trend PictureA trend picture displayed in DNAtrend can be easily deleted.Proceed as follows:1. Click the Delete button on the toolbar. A dialog will open on the desktop:2. Click the Yes button. A dialog will open on the desktop to confirm a successful deletion:3. Cl

23、ick the OK button to close the dialog.How to Print a Trend PictureWhen you want to print the trend picture displayed in DNAtrend, proceed as follows: Click the Print button on the toolbar. The trend picture will be printed in the default printer.About DNAtrendWhen you want to see the application inf

24、ormation about DNAtrend, proceed as follows: Click the About button on the toolbar. A dialog will open on the desktop:Click the OK button to close the dialog.Timeline Component OperationsHow to Set the Start and End TimeThe start and end time are used together with the span to define the interval in

25、 which the trend can be examined. The interval can be defined with the accuracy of one second.When DNAtrend is opened, the transition moment determines the value of the end time. The span is locked and at its default value of 8 hours. The value of the start time is determined by the end time and the

26、 span (i.e. end time - span value).Since the values of the start time, end time and span are interrelated, only two of them can be modified at a time and the third value is locked. The lock button and value boxes of the locked variable appear dimmed. The locked variable is released when either of th

27、e modifiable variables is locked by clicking the corresponding lock button .Proceed as follows:1. Click the value to be changed in the date or time box.2. Do one of the following: Type a new value. Select a new value by clicking the up and down arrows. Select a new value by pressing the UP and DOWN

28、ARROW keys.Alternatively, the current time can be set as the end time by clicking the Clock button .The date can also be set with the calendar function:1. Click the arrow button right to the date box. The calendar dialog will open on the desktop:2. If required, change the month with the arrow button

29、s.3. Click the desired day in the calendar. The dialog will close.3. Click the Refresh button or press the ENTER key. The coordinates will be updated to match the changed values.Changes in the start or end time values will also directly affect the other unlocked value.How to Set the SpanBy changing

30、the length of the span you can affect the presentation accuracy of the trend data. The span can be locked or unlocked. The lock/unlock button indicates the state of the span:Locked-The span does not change if you change the start time or end time. If the span is locked, it does not change unless you

31、 specifically change it. Unlocked-The span changes if you change the start or end time. If the span is unlocked, its length is determined by the start and end time.Proceed as follows:1. Click the arrow button next to the span box and select the span on the list.ORClick the span box and enter a new value.2. Click the Refresh button or press the ENTER key. The coordinates will be updated to match the changed value.Changes in the span value will also directly affect
