Sincethen,“CleanUpAustralia”hasgot7everyyear.In2002,forexample,800,000peoplecleanedupalmost15,000tonsofrubbishfromAustralia’sbeaches,parksandstreets.

Kiermanwas8withthesuccessofhisproject.In2003,hestartedanevenbiggerprogram.Withthe9oftheUnitedNationsEnvironmentProgram,heintroduced“CleanUptheWorld”,aninternationalprogramthatsupportscommunitiesaroundtheworldincleaningupandprotectingtheenvironment.“CleanUptheWorld”hasgrown10andhiswonderfulideahasnowspreadfromonecitytothewholeworld.
