Unluckily,thirtyminutesafterleavingTurkey,themotorontheshipwhichwasmeanttoholdsixpassengersbutwasinsteadcarryingtwenty,failed.Yusra,hersisterSarah,andtheonlytwootherstrongswimmersaboardtheboathadnochoicebuttodiveintotheoceanandusetheirsuperiorswimmingskillstopushtheboatanditspassengersallthewaytoLesbos,Greece–Ajourneythattookthreehours.
