  Britain'sUniversityofCambridgehastoppedthelist,makingitthebestuniversityintheworldforscience.In2009,theuniversitywillcelebrateits800thanniversary,makingitoneoftheworld'soldestuniversities.CambridgeisthelargestuniversityintheUnitedKingdom(over100departments,facultiesandschools).ItscontributiontotheworldhasrangedfromthediscoveryofthemechanismofbloodcirculationtothestructureofDNA,fromthegreatphilosophersoftheearly15thcenturytothegroundbreakingworkofitsmanyNobelPrizewinners(morethan60distinguishednamesfeatureonthelist).

  TheCollegeBoard'sSATProgramconsistsoftheSATReasoningTestTM(SAT)andSATSubjectTestsTM.TheSATisthreehoursand45minuteslongandmeasuresskillsinthreeareas:

criticalreading,math,andwriting.Althoughmostquestionsaremultiplechoice,studentsarealsorequiredtowritea25-minuteessay.

  TheSATSubjectTestsareone-hour,mostlymultiple-choicetestsinspecificsubjects.Thesetestsmeasureknowledgeofparticularsubjectsandtheabilitytoapplythatknowledge.Manycollegesrequireorrecommendoneormoreofthesetestsforadmissionorplacementpurposes.
