Confucius'politicalbeliefswerelikewisebasedontheconceptofself-control.Hebelievedthataleadershouldstayhumbleandtreathisfollowerswithcare.Indoingso,hewouldleadbypositiveexample.AccordingtoConfucius,leaderscouldmotivatetheirsubjectstofollowthelawbyteachingthemvirtue.

“TheideaofhavingacoatthatseesthepartsthatmakemeasjustpartsandnotasaproblemthatIneedtosolvewasreallyliberatinginanidentitysense,”Ms.Kernsaid.“Becausegenerally,whenyouhaveadifferentbody,youdon’treallyseeyourself.”

“Ithinkthechallengesthestudentsfacedthroughoutthecoursehadalottodowiththeexchangeofideas,”Ms.Junsaid.“Theywereabletounderstandthatnotwopeoplewithadisabilityarealike.Beingabletodesignuniquelymeansyouhavetohaveacollaborative(合作)process.We’redesigningwitheachother,notfor.”
