TheLeaningTowerofPisa
TheTowerofPisaisoneofthemostbeautifulbelltowersinItaly.Itisnot
onlybeautiful,butalsostrange—itleanstooneside.Todayitisknownas
“theLeaningTowerofPisa”.
Thebuildingofthetowerbeganin1173.Ittooknearly200yearsto
complete.In1178,whenthebuildinggottothethirdfloor,itstartedto
lean.Thebuilderstriedtomakethetowerstraightagainwhentheybuiltthe
upperfloors,butfailed.
Overtheyears,thetowerhascontinuedtoleanfurther.Expertshavedone
alotofstudiesandtriedto“rescue”thetower.In1990,itwasclosedtothe
publicforsafetyreasons.Afteralotofeffort,itreopenedin2001,hopefully
itwillbesafeforatleastthenext300years.

theyonlytakeabackpackwiththem.Backpackersusuallydonotspend

Oneday,JohnDancerandCharliearrivedatahotel.

largefin.Itwasashark!
Ibegantoswimback,butthebeachwastoofar
away.Thesharkstartedtoswimaroundme.
Iwasreallyscared.Suddenlyanothercreatureappearednexttomeinthe
water.Itwasadolphin!
Itpushedmeawayfromtheshark.Isatonitsback
asitswamtowardsthebeach.
Soonwewerenearthebeach.Thesharkdidnotfollowus.AssoonasI
steppedontothebeach,thedolphinswamaway.Iwillalwayshowthis
friendlyanimalsavedmylife.

mustwearcollars(i.e.bandsputaroundtheirnecks)inpublicplaces.The
collarshouldshowthenameandaddressofthedog’sowner.However,
