ThesiteusesArtificialIntelligencedesignedbyGoogletoovercomeakeyproblemwiththesekindsofphotos:
cameratrapsproduceanastronomicalnumberofimagestomanually（手动的）analyze,saysAhumada,manyofwhichareblankimageswherethecamerawastriggeredbyitssurroundingsandnotbywildlife.Manuallysortinganddeletingthesephotosisalaborioustask.
Togetaroundthat,aftersomeoneuploadsfootagetotheWildlifeInsightsdatabase,itsAIchecksiftheimagewastakenfromacameratrapandautomaticallyremovesallblandimages.Ifthereisananimalintheimage,theAIwillidentifythespecies.
Aswellascollectingandreviewingthephotos,theplatformwillprovideanalyticsthatcouldrevealtrendsinspecies’populationfordifferentprojects.Thatinformationcouldhelpresearchersunderstandwhetheraspeciesisincreasingitsrangeorifitsnumbersaredwindling.
