Converters-Introduction
Powerelectronicsisabranchofelectricalengineeringthatrelatestodevicesforchangingtheformofelectricalenergy(converters).
Wecandistinguishfourdifferenttypesofconverters :
∙ACtoDC(rectifier)
∙DCtoAC(inverter)
∙DCtoDC(DC-to-DCconverter)
∙ACtoAC(AC-to-ACconverter)

Forlow-powerdevices,thesimplestfilterismadeusingoneormorecapacitorsconnectedinparalleltotheoutput.Thecapacitorstoresenergywhenthecurrentthroughthediodesandthenreturns.
-Foragivenload,whenthecapacitanceofthecapacitorishigher,thefilteringismoreefficient.
-Foragivencapacitor,thelowertheloadcurrentcalls(Risbig),themoreefficientthefilteris
