GoodmorningeveryoneandwelcometotheArtGallery.Nowwe’restandinghereonthestepsoftheGalleryandbeforewegoinsideI’djustliketotellyoualittlebitaboutthehistoryofthebuilding.Asyoucansee,itisbuiltoutofbeautifullocalsandstoneandhaseightmagnificentstonecolumnsorpillarshereatthefrontofthebuilding.Thegallery,whichwasdesignedbythecolonialarchitectoftheday,wasfirstopenedin1897,butasyouwillseeaswewalkthroughthegallery,ithashadanumberofextensionsaddedovertheyears.Themostrecentpartofthegalleryistheextensionwhichisdownstairsonthelowerlevelandthiswasopenedin1988.
