ThissameprocessonEarthprovidesenergyforentireecosystemsaroundvolcanicvents(火山口).There,tinycreaturesareabletosurvivewithoutsunlight,usinghydrogenandcarbondioxideasfuelinaprocessknownas“methanogenesis(甲烷生成)”.

ThediscoveryofthischemicalenergysourceonEnceladusmeansitcouldbeaverygoodcandidatetohostlife.
