1.DefinitionofConferenceDocuments

Conferencedocumentsareprintedmaterialsdistributedbeforeoratorafteraconference,concerningtheannouncements,arrangements,andotherinformationoftheconference,usuallymadebythesponsoringorganizationortheorganizingcommitteeoftheconference.

Conferenceisameetingheldsothatopinionsandideasonasubject,oranumberofsubjects,canbeexchanged.Academicconferencesorsymposiausuallycontainsessions,workshopsandotheractivitiessuchaspostersessions,seminars,technicaltours,andothersocialactivities.Priortothetechnicalsessionsoftheconference,workshopsmaybeconducted.Sometimessometutorialworkshops（orshortcourses）maybeorganized.

2.ClassificationofConferenceDocuments

Conferencedocumentsincludeallprintedmaterialsfromthepreparationofaconferencetothepost-conferenceproceedings.Conferencedocumentscanbeclassifiedintothreemainkinds:

DocumentsinthepreparationofaconferenceorsymposiumconsistofAnnouncementsandCallforPapers（or:

GeneralAnnouncement&CallforPapers;CallforParticipation）;InstructionsforAuthors;InstructionsforSpeakers;RegistrationForm;AccommodationRegistrationForm;Invitations,andGeneralInformationcontainingpreliminaryTimeSchedule,etc.

2.2DocumentsDistributedataConferenceorSymposium

Documentsdistributedataconferenceusuallyinclude:

conferenceprogramwithallsessions,workshops,andothersocialactivitieslisted;BookofAbstractsorConferenceProceedings（orPreprintsvolume）includingConferencePaperAbstracts;ConferenceDailySchedule,andsoon.

2.3DocumentsDistributedafteraConferenceorSymposium

Documentsdistributedafteraconferenceusuallyinclude:

post-conferenceproceedings.Thismaybethepermanentrecordoftheconferenceorsymposium;somespecialissueofselectedpapersinacertainJournal;newslettersforsomeregularly-heldconferences,whichareissuedatregularintervalsforthepurposeofdisseminatingcurrentinformationrelevanttoanacademicorganization,etc.

Allthesedocumentsareusuallypreparedbytheorganizingcommitteeofaconferenceorsometimesbyanexecutivecommittee,whichisusuallyorganizedbyasponsororco-sponsorsorasponsoringinstitution.
