　　尊敬的各位国民、700万海外侨胞们：

　　我今天站在这里，满怀开创希望新时代的决心与憧憬，正式就任大韩民国第十八任总统。

　　感谢各位国民赋予我如此重大的历史使命，感谢出席就职仪式的李明博总统、各位前任总统，以及世界各国的恭贺使节和海内外xx们。

　　作为大韩民国的总统，我将顺应民意，实现我国经济复兴、国民幸福、文化昌盛的伟大梦想，为建设一个国富民安的大韩民国而不懈努力。

　　尊敬的各位国民!

今天的大韩民国是各位用鲜血与汗水孕育而成的。

各位以坚强的意志与魄力完成了我国工业与民主化建设，实现了伟大的历史变革。

汉江奇迹的出现正是因为有你们，那些在德国矿山里，在中东沙漠中，在零下几十度的战争前线坚守的人们，千千万万为家庭与祖国奉献一生的我国国民。

在风云激荡的近代史中，大韩民国在苦难与逆境中奋发崛起，走向现代。

然而当前全球经济危机余波未平，朝鲜核问题悬而未决，资本主义市场面临新的挑战。

克服危机需要努力开拓新的道路，这谈何容易!

但是我相信我们的国民，相信我国国民在困难时期所迸发出的坚强、勇气与活力。

　　让我们携手面对挑战，共同开创希望的新时代，创造我国第二个汉江奇迹!

在希望的新时代里，个人的幸福推动国家综合实力的提升，而一个强大的国家则永远属于建设她的国民。

首先，为实现经济复兴，政府将大力推进创造经济和经济民主化的建设。

　　IamprofoundlygratefultotheKoreanpeopleforentrustingthishistoricmissiontome.IalsothankPresidentLeeMyung-bak,formerPresidents,dignitarieswhohaveefromabroadtocelebratethisoccasion,andotherdistinguishedguestsfortheirpresence.

　　AsPresidentoftheRepublicofKorea,Iwillliveuptothewillofthepeoplebyachievingeconomicrejuvenation,thehappinessofthepeople,andtheflourishingofourculture.

　　IwilldomyutmosttobuildingaRepublicofKoreathatisprosperousandwherehappinessisfeltbyallKoreans.

　　Thismiraclewasonlypossibleduetotheoutstandingcaliberofourpeopleandtheirunstintingdevotiontobothfamilyandcountry.

　　Today,Iwouldliketoproposeanewwayforwardfosteredonamutuallyreinforcingcycleofnationaladvancementandthehappinessofourpeople.

　　Thenewadministrationwillusherinaneweraofhopepremisedonarevitalizingeconomy,thehappinessofourpeople,andtheblossomingofourculture.

　　Tobeginwith,economicrevitalizationisgoingtobepropelledbyacreativeeconomyandeconomicdemocratization.

　　Acrosstheworld,wearewitnessinganeconomicparadigmshift.

　　Acreativeeconomyisdefinedbytheconvergenceofscienceandtechnologywithindustry,thefusionofculturewithindustry,andtheblossomingofcreativityintheverybordersthatwereoncepermeatedbybarriers.

　　Itisaboutgoingbeyondtherudimentaryexpansionofexistingmarkets,andcreatingnewmarketsandnewjobsbybuildingonthebedrockofconvergence.

　　AttheveryheartofacreativeeconomyliesciencetechnologyandtheITindustry,areasthatIhaveearmarkedaskeypriorities.

　　Iwillraiseourscienceandtechnologytoworld-classlevels.Andacreativeeconomywillbebroughttofruitionbyapplyingtheresultsofsuchendeavorsacrosstheboard.

　　ThenewadministrationsMinistryofFuturePlanningandSciencewillbetaskedtoleadtheemergenceofacreativeeconomyintandemwiththisnewparadigm.

　　Peoplearethenucleusofacreativeeconomy.Weliveinanagewhereasingleindividualcanraisethevalueofanentirenationandevenhelpinrescuingtheeconomy.

　　NewopportunitiestoservetheircountrywillbeopenedtonumeroustalentedKoreansthrivingacrosstheglobalvillage.Andtothosewhoareequallyenabledatthehomefront,effortswillbeenhancedtoallowthemtobeeconvergenceleadersimbuedwithcreativityandpassionaspillarsofafutureKorea.

　　Inorderforacreativeeconomytotrulyblossom,economicdemocratizationmustbeachieved.

　　Ibelievestronglythatonlywhenafairmarketisfirmlyinplace,caneveryonedreamofabetterfutureandworktotheirfullestpotential.

　　Oneofmycriticaleconomicgoalsistoensurethatanyonethatworkshardcanstandontheirowntwofeetandwhere,throughthesupportofpoliciesdesignedtostrengthensmallandmedium-sizedenterprises,suchbusinessescanprosperalongsidelargepanies.

　　Byrootingoutvariousunfairpracticesandrectifyingthemisguidedhabitsofthepastwhichhavefrustratedsmallbusinessownersandsmallandmedium-sizedenterprises,wewillprovideactivesupporttoensurethateveryonecanliveuptotheirfullestpotential,regardlessofwheretheyworkorwhattheydoforaliving.

　　Itispreciselywhenthemajorplayersinoureconomyetogetherasoneandpooltheirstrengthsthatwecanbringhappinesstothepeopleandenhanceournationspetitiveness.

　　ItisonthisfoundationthatIwillbreathenewenergyintooureconomyandrealizeaSecondMiracleontheHanRiverthatculminatesinthehappinessoftheKoreanpeople.

　　Nomatterhowmuchthecountryadvances,suchgaxxwouldbemeaninglessifthelivesofthepeopleremainedxxecure.

　　Agenuineeraofhappinessisonlypossiblewhenwearentcloudedbytheuncertaintiesofagingandwhenbearingandraisingchildrenistrulyconsideredablessing.

　　Nocitizenshouldbelefttofearthatheorshemightnotbeabletomeetthebasicrequirementsoflife.

　　Anewparadigmoftailoredwelfarewillfreecitizensfromanxietiesandallowthemtoprosperintheirownprofessions,izetheirpotentials,andalsocontributetothenationsdevelopment.

　　Ibelievethatenablingpeopletofulfilltheirdreamsandopeninganeweraofhopebegxxwitheducation.

　　Weneedtoprovideactivesupportsothateducationbringsoutthebestofanindividualslatentabilitiesandweneedtoestablishanewsystemthatfostersnationaldevelopmentthroughthesteppingstonesofeachindividualscapabilities.

　　Thereisasayingthatsomeoneyouknowisnotasgoodassomeoneyoulike,andsomeoneyoulikeisnotasgoodassomeoneyouenjoybeingwith.

　　Thedayoftruehappinesswillonlyewhenanincreasingnumberofpeopleareabletoenjoywhattheylearn,andlovewhattheydo.

　　Themostimportantassetforanycountryisitspeople.

　　Thefutureholdslittlepromisewhenindividualabilityisstifledandwhentheonlynameofthegameisrigidpetitionthatsmotherscreativity.

　　Eversincechildhood,Ihaveheldtheconvictionthatharnessingthepotentialofeverystudentwillbetheforcethatpropelsanationforward.

　　Oureducationalsystemwillbeimprovedsothatstudentscandiscovertheirtalentsandstrengths,fulfilltheirpreciousdreamsandarejudgedonthatbases.Thiswillenablethemtomakethebestuseoftheirtalentuponenteringsociety.

　　Thereisnoplaceforanindividualsdreams,talentsorhopesinasocietywhereeverythingisdeterminedbyonesacademicbackgroundandlistofcredentials.

　　Wewilltransformoursocietyfromonethatstressesacademiccredentialstoonethatismerit-basedsothateachindividualsdreamsandflaircanbearfruit.

　　Itgoeswithoutsayingthatprotectingthelivesandensuringthesafetyofthepeopleisacriticalelementofahappynation.

　　Thenewgovernmentwillfocusitseffortsonbuildingasafesocietywherewomen,peoplewithdisabilities,oranyoneelseforthatmatter,canfeelateaseastheycarryonwiththeirlives,nomatterwheretheyareinthecountry.
