3.PREVENTIVEMAINTENANCE

Preventivemaintenance,

breakdownandmayimprovethereliability

TheSeverityofenvironmenttowhichthis

instrumentissubjectedwill

determinethefrequencyofmainte—

nance.Aconvenienttimetoperformpreventivemaintenanceis

precedingrecalibrationoftheinStrument.

Disassembly

Removethe4screwsinthetopcoveroftheinstrument.GentlySeparatethetopcoverfromtheinStrumentandlayaside,MostoftheinternalpartsoftheinStrumentarenowaccessible

ifaccesstothefrontofthecircuitboardSarenecessary,

removetheknobsfromtheexternalcontrolshaftsontheboard.

RemovethetwoscrewsSecuringtheSidepaneltotheInputCircuitboardandremovetheinStrumentSidepanel.(See5.DISASSEMBLYILLUSTRATION.)

Cleaning

TheinstrUmentshouldbecleanedasoftenasoperatingcon—ditionsrequire.accumulationofdirtintheinStrumentcan

causecomponentbreakdown,

Thecoversprovideprotectionagainstdustintheinterior

oftheinStrument.Loosedustaccumulatedonthesecoverscanberemovedwithasoftclothorsmallbrush.

Dirtthatremainscanberemovedwithasoftclothdependedinamilddetergentandwatersolution.Abrasivec1eanersshouldnotbeused.

CleaningtheinterlorShouldonlybeoccaSionallynecessary.

Thebestwaytocleantheinterioristoblowoffthedustwithadry,low—velocityStreamofair.Asoft—briStlebrushora

cotton—tippedapplicatorisusefulforcleaninginnarrowSpaces

orforcleaningmoredelicatecomponents.
