Doubleswitchedreluctancemotorsparalleldrivebasedondual89C52singlechipmicroprocessors

Abstract

ThedevelopeddoubleSwitchedReluctancemotorsparalleldriveispresented,whichismadeupoftwofour-phase8/6structureSwitchedReluctancemotors,twofour-phaseasymmetricbridgepowerconvertersandthecontroller.Thefour-phase8/6structureSwitchedReluctancemotor,thefour-phaseasymmetricbridgepowerconverterandthecontrolschemearedescribed.Theclosed-looprotorspeedcontrolofthemainmotorandtheclosed-looprotorspeedcontrolofthesubroutinemotorcouldbebasedonthepulsewidthmodulationfuzzylogicalgorithm,whichisimplementedbydual89C52singlechipmicroprocessorcontroller.TheexperimentalresultsofrotorspeedsandphasecurrentsintwoSwitchedReluctancemotorsaregiven.

1.Introduction

Theelectriclocomotivesincoalminesaredrivenbyseriesdirectcurrentmotordrivesystem.Theaccessionalresistorregulatedcontrolorthechoppingcontrolisusedtoadjusttherotorspeedoftheseriesdirectcurrentmotorandtocontrolthespeedofelectriclocomotive.TheSwitchedReluctancemotordrivecanbeoperatedatfourquadrants[1].Itcouldbeusedaselectricaltractionforelectriclocomotivesincoalmines[2][3].ThesoftmechanicalcharacteristicsofSwitchedReluctancemotordrive[4]contributetoparalleldoubleSwitchedReluctancemotordrivessystemwithsynchronizationoftherotorspeedandtheloadsbeinginequilibrium.ThedoubleSwitchedReluctancemotorsparalleldrivesystemcanbeusedtoreplacetheseriesdirectcurrentmotordrivesystemastheadjustablespeedmotordrivefortheelectriclocomotives.TheSwitchedReluctancemotordriveismadeupoftheSwitchedReluctancemotor,thepowerconverterandthedigitalcontroller.Therearefour-phase8/6structureSwitchedReluctancemotorandthree-phase6/4structureSwitchedReluctancemotor.Thefaulttoleranceabilityoffour-phase8/6structureSwitchedReluctancemotorishigherthanthatofthree-phase6/4structureSwitchedReluctancemotorsothatfour-phase8/6structureSwitchedReluctancemotorisadoptedinthesystem.Thereareasymmetricbridgecircuit,bifilarwindingcircuit,commonswitchcircuit,resistancecommutationcircuit,splitsupplycircuit,inductancecommutationcircuitforfour-phasepowerconverterwithfour-phase8/6structureSwitchedReluctancemotor.Thefour-phaseasymmetricbridgepowerconvertercircuitisadoptedinthesystemduetoitsindependenceineachphase.ThedigitalmicroprocessorhastheadvantagesinhighreliabilityandstabilityforcontrolofSwitchedReluctancemotordrive.Somecontrolalgorithmscanbeimplementedbythedigitalmicroprocessor.TheSwitchedReluctancemotordriveisbasedonIntel8031[5],Intel80C196KB[6],Intel87C196KC[7].The89C52digitalmicroprocessorhadbeendevelopedforslidingmodeandPIcontrolofasingleSwitchedReluctancemotordrive[8].Thepaperpresentsdual89C52singlechipmicroprocessorscontrollerfordoubleSwitchedReluctancemotorsparalleldrive.ItisnoteasytogaintheexactmathematicalmodelofSwitchedReluctancemotordrivesinceithasnonlinearmagneticpathsinthemotorandnonlinearcircuittopologyinthepowerconverter.ItisnotnecessaryforthefuzzylogiccontroltogaintheexactmathematicalmodelofSwitchedReluctancemotordrive.Therotorspeedclosed-loopcontrolcouldbeimplementedbasedonthefuzzylogicalgorithm.

2.Schemeofsystem

ThedevelopeddoubleSwitchedReluctancemotorsparalleldriveconsistsoftwofour-phase8/6structureSwitchedReluctancemotors,twofour-phaseasymmetricbridgepowerconvertersandthedigitalcontroller.

1.1.Motor

Twofour-phase8/6structureSwitchedReluctancemotorsareadoptedinthedevelopeddoubleSwitchedReluctancemotorsparalleldrive.Thecrosssectionofthefour-phase8/6structureSwitchedReluctanceisshowninFig.1.Thereareeightpolesinthestator,whilesixpolesintherotor.Thetwocoilsonthediametricallyoppositestatorpolescanbeconnectedtomakeupaphasewinding.Thereisonlyphasewindinginthestator.Thereisnowinding,nomagnetandnobrushintherotor.Thereisarotorpositiondetectoronthemotorfordetectingrotorpositionandspeed.Thephotographofthedevelopeddualfour-phase8/6structureSwitchedReluctancemotorsisshowninFig.2.

2.2.Powerconverters

Themaincircuitofthetwofour-phaseasymmetricbridgepowerconverterswithphasewindings,“A1”,“B1”,“C1”and“D1”,“A2”,“B2”,“C2”and“D2”,isshowninFig.3.

2.3.Controlscheme

Theturned-onangleandtheturned-offangleofthemainswitchesarefixed.ThetriggeredsignalsofthemainswitchesinthedualpowerconvertersaremodulatedbyPWMsignal.Theclosed-looprotorspeedcontrolinthemainSwitchedReluctancemotorcouldbeimplementedbycomparisonofthegivenrotorspeedandtherealrotorspeedofmainmotor,andbyregulationofthedutyratioofPWMsignalinmainpowerconverterwithfuzzylogiccontrolalgorithm.Theclosed-looprotorspeedcontrolinthesubroutineSwitchedReluctancemotorcouldbeimplementedbycomparisonoftherealrotorspeedofmainmotorandtherealrotorspeedofsubroutinemotor,andbyregulationofthedutyratioofPWMsignalinsubroutinepowerconverterwithfuzzylogiccontrolalgorithm.Thefuzzylogiccontrolalgorithminan89C52digitalmicroprocessorforthemainmotorcouldbe

TheschematicdiagramofthedevelopeddualSwitchedReluctancemotorsparalleldriveprototypeisshowninFig.5.Therearetheprotectioncircuit,thecommutationcircuitandthegatedrivercircuitineachmotordrivesystem,respectively.

3.Experimentaltests

ThedevelopeddualSwitchedReluctancemotorsparalleldriveprototypeissuppliedbyDC132Vstoragebatteries.TheexperimentalresultsintherotorspeedcurvesofthetwomotorsareshowninFig.6.InFig.6a)thegivenrotorspeedng=400r/min,b)thegivenrotorspeedng=750r/min,c)thegivenrotorspeedng=1100r/min.TheexperimentalresultsinthephasecurrentwaveformsofthetwomotorsareshowninFig.7.InFig.7a)thegivenrotorspeedng=400r/min,b)thegivenrotorspeedng=800r/min,c)thegivenrotorspeedng=1040r/min.Itisshownthatsynchronizationoftherotorspeedsofthemotorsiswell.Thedifferenceinthepeakvalueofphasecurrentofthetwomotorsandinphasecurrentwaveformsofthetwomotorsissmall.Itmeansthattheloadsaredistributedonthetwomotorsinequilibrium.

4.Conclusions

ThesoftmechanicalcharacteristicsofSwitchedReluctancemotordrivecontributetoparalleldualSwitchedReluctancemotorswithsynchronizationoftherotorspeedandtheloadsbeinginequilibrium.Theprototypemadeupoftwofour-phase8/6structureSwitchedReluctancemotors,twofour-phaseasymmetricbridgepowerconvertersandthedigitalcontrollerisdeveloped.Theclosed-looprotorspeedcontrolinthemainSwitchedReluctancemotorandtheclosed-looprotorspeedcontrolinthesubroutineSwitchedReluctancemotorareimplementedbyPWMfuzzylogiccontrolalgorithm,whicharebasedondual89C52dig
