Oneclassicstudy,ledbypsychologistElizabethLoftus,showedhoweasilyaninterviewerc’shoiceofwordingcaninfluenceaneyewitnessa’sccountofatrafficaccident.Itisthereforereasonabletowonderwhethermemoirshouldcontinuetobebrandedasnon-fiction.

Certainly,humanmemorycanbeunreliable.However,amemoirauthorisundoubtedlywritingaboutsignificantandimpactfullifeevents.Memoriesofsucheventsareactuallymore
