X文一China’sStateAdministrationofRadioFilmandTelevision（SARFT）recentlyissuedanoticebanningdomesticradioandTVstationsfromtranslatingforeignradioandTVprogrammesintoanylocaldialect.ThenoticesaidthatsuchdialecttranslationcontradictsthenationalinitiativetopromotePutonghua,orMandarin,aroundthecountry.Foreignprogrammesthathavebeentranslatedintodialectsmustberemovedfromtelevisionandradioimmediately.Thenoticeevokedamixedresponsefromexpertsandaudioandvideoproducers,aswellasthegeneralpublic.Manyvoicedtheirconcernsthatlocaldialectswouldbeforniddeninpublicplaces.Mandarian,whichmeans"monlanguage",isthecountry’spredominantlanguageandiswidelyusedbymorethan70percentofthepopulation.However,localdialectsstillenjoypopularityforrelativelyless-educatedpeopleinsomeoccasions.Thedialectsdomakeuniqueroleandshouldbetoleratedforexistenceinpublicplaces.

      Thedevelopmentofanindividualhumanexistencecanbedividedintoseveralimportantstages.Butnoperiodcanbemoreinfluentialuponthelatercourseofourlifethantheyearswehaveexperiencedincollege.Hereisthecradleofintelligentsiawithvision,missionandpassion.Andnow,asIamreadytoleavecampusandfacetherealworld,Idaresaythatnootherplacecanteachmemore.

       IamveryproudthatinuniversityIhavelearnthowimportantitisforonetohavevision,thatabilitytoseeaheadoftimeand possiblyothers.Collegehasraisedmeup,sothatIcouldenjoyabroaderviewoftheworld.UniversityLibrary,thesanctuaryofmindalwayskeepsmeinaclosetouchwiththegreatthoughtsofgiants,Shakespeare,Russell,Churchill,Roosevelt,tonameonlyafew.All theseoverwhelminglyfamousnameshaveturnedfamiliarandfriendly here.Thesegreatmindsteachmehowtoliveameaningfullife.Theywarnmethatthelastbutgreatestenemyformankindishumanexistenceitself.Theirwordsofwisdomshallguideandguardmetooverealltheobstaclesbesetinthecourseofmylife.Inthelightofthisstatement,Ihavetosaythatcollegeyearshavebrightenedupmyvision.

       ItisatuniversitythatIhaveacquiredanaddedunderstandingofthemeaningofmissioni.e.manshouldhaveshouldersstrongenoughtotakemoreresponsibilitiesofthetime.Collegehasenrichedme,sothatI,tosomeextent,havediscoveredthetruthtoliveby. WhenIwasasophomore,IwaschosenavolunteerfortheRedCrossInstitution.Myjob,then,wastoassistthedoctorwiththebloodcollectinginablooddonationcaronthestreet.Thosedaysbestowedmewithamovingbutalittlebitsingularpicture,inwhichthepainfulinjectionandheartysmileareperfectlyandbeautifullybined.Everyparcelofbloodmeansapieceofhope,throughwhichIseethatthepossessionoflifeliesinsharing.Thisishowcollegeyearshavedefinedmymission.
