2.2.1、

第三章Systemandsoftwareinstallation

1.Migrationinstallation

UsethisinstallationmethodtoupgradeAIXVersion4.2,4.3,AIX5LVersion5.1,orVersion5.2toAIX5LVersion5.3whilepreservingtheexistingrootvolumegroup（seethereleasenotesforrestrictions）.Theinstallationprocessdetermineswhichoptionalsoftwareproductsmustbeinstalled.Withtheexceptionof/tmp,thismethodpreservesmostfilesystems,includingtherootvolumegroup,logicalvolumes,andsystemconfigurationfiles.Inmostcases,theuserconfigurationfilesfromthepreviousversionofaproductaresavedwhenthenewversionisinstalledduringaMigrationinstallation.

2.Preservationinstallation

UsethisinstallationmethodwhenaversionoftheBOSisinstalledonyoursystem,andyouwanttopreservetheuserdataintherootvolumegroup.However,thismethodoverwritesthe/usr,/tmp,/var,and/（root）filesystemsbydefault;so,anyuserdatainthesedirectoriesislost.Thesefilesystemsareremovedandrecreated;so,anyotherLPPsorfilesetsthatyouinstalledonthesystemwillalsobelost.SystemconfigurationmustbedoneafterdoingaPreservationinstallation.The/etc/preserve.listfilecontainsalistofsystemfilestobecopiedandsavedduringapreservationBOSinstallation.The/etc/filesystemsfileislistedbydefault.YoucanaddthefullpathnamesofanyadditionalfilesthatyouwanttosaveduringthePreservationinstallationtothepreserve.listfile.Forexample,youcanalterthe/etc/preserve.listfiletotellyourinstallationprocessthatyouwanttopreserveyour/varfilesystem.
