●Credit___meanswhotakestheresponsibilityofpayingmoneyandsurrenderingtheshippingdocumentswhichrepresentthetitletothegoodsinhandingoverthetransactedgoodsandpayingtheabovesaidmoney.

●A.Commercialcredit___remittance（汇付）andcollection（托收），thebuyerisresponsibletomakepayment,thesellertosurrenderdocuments.

B.banker’scredit___letterofcredit（L/C信用证），thebankerisresponsibletopaymoneyandtenderdocumentsonbehalfofbothparties.

●Thebuyercanadoptthreedifferentwaysofremittancewhenhesendsthemoneytothesellerthroughabank:

1）MailTransfer（M/T信汇）

Thebuyergivesmoneytohislocalbank.Thelocalbankissuesatrustdeedforpayment（付款委托书）,thensendsittoacorrespondentbankattheseller’sendbymeansofmailandentrustshimtopaythemoneytotheseller.

2）TelegraphicTransfer（T/T电汇）

Attherequestofthebuyer,thelocalbanksendsatrustdeedforpaymentbycabledirectlytoacorrespondentbankattheseller’sendandentrusthimtopaymoneytotheseller.

Thismethodisquickerthanmailtransfer.Thesellercanreceivethemoneyatanearlydate.Butthebuyerhastobearmoreexpenses.

3）DemandDraft（D/D票汇）

Thebuyerbuysabankdraft（汇票）fromhislocalbankandsendsitbymailtotheseller.Onthebasisoftheabovebankdraft,thesellerorhisappointedpersontakesthemoneyfromtherelativebankinhisplace.

●Collection（托收）

Thesellerissuesadraft,towhichtheshippingdocumentsareattached,forwardsthedrafttoabankinhisplace（i.e.,theremittingbank托收银行或受托银行）,makesanapplicationforcollectionandentruststheremittingbanktocollectthepurchasepricefromthebuyerthroughitscorrespondentbankabroad（i.e.,thecollectingbank代收银行）.

Becausetheremittingbankinstructsthecollectingbanknottopartthedocumentswiththelatteruntilthedraftisacceptedorpaid（承兑或支付）,thebuyer’slackofcommercialintegrityisguardedagainst.

●D/P____documentsagainstpayment（付款交单）

Theexporteristoshipthegoodsorderedanddelivertherelativeshippingdocumentstothebuyerabroadthoroughtheremittingbankandthecollectingbankwithinstructionsnottoreleasethedocumentstothebuyeruntilthepaymentforthegoodsismade.

●Whycannotthebuyerdirectlysendcashorbanker’sdraftwithhisordertotheseller?

1）thebuyer’scapitalwillbetiedupfromthetimeofremittingituntilthegoodsarriveandaresold,especiallyincaseswherethegoodsorderedcanonlybeshippedbythesellermonthsoryearsafterplacingtheorder.

2）Thesellermaybeunknowntothebuyer,andhiscommercialintegritymaybequestionable.

●Insurancepolicy（保险单）——adocumentissuedbytheinsurer,settingouttheexacttermsandconditionsofaninsurancetransaction__thenameoftheinsured,thenameofcommodityinsured,theamountinsured,thenameofthecarryingvessel,thepreciseriskscovered,theperiodofcover,andanyexceptionstheremaybe.Itisalsoawrittencontractofinsurancebetweentheinsurancecompanyandtheinsured.

●Insurancecertificate（保险凭证）—isasimplifiedinsurancepolicy.Ithasthenecessaryitemsofaninsurancepolicy,butitdoesn’tsetouttherightsanddutiesoftheinsurerandtheinsured,whicharesubjecttothedetailedinsuranceclausesofaformalinsurancepolicy.Ininsurancecertificatehasthesameeffectasaninsurancepolicy.

●Weightmemo（重量单）___ismadeoutbyasellerwhenasaleisaffectedinforeigntrade,indicatingthenetandgrossweightsofeachpackage,whichenablestheconsigneeorthecustomsofficetocheckthegoods.

●Packinglist（装箱单）——ismadeoutbyasellerwhenasaleisaffectedinforeigntrade,indicatingthenameofthegoods,thenetweight,thegrossweightandcompleteinnerpackingspecificationsandcontentsofeachpackage.Itenablestheconsigneetodeclarethegoodsatthecustomsoffice,distinguishandcheckthegoodswhentheyarriveattheportofdestinations.
