Innowadays,itisquitecommonthatwecompetewitheachotherforvariouscompetitions.However,itisalsoessentialforpeopletocooperatewitheachotherforwearemembersofsociety.Whenconfrontwithcooperationandcompetition,peopleseemstohaveadifficulttimeinchoosingthem.Somepeopletendtocompetewitheachotherfortheybelievetheycanwinrewardsbydefeatingothers.Someholdthatweshouldcooperatewitheachother.Somethinkthatweshouldnotonlycooperatewithothersbutweshouldcompetewithothersaswell.Inmyopinion,Ithinkthatcompetingismoreimportantforus.Reasonsarelistedbelow.

Firstofall,competingismoreimportantthancooperationinoursociety.Inschool,wecompetewithothersbydoingbetterinourstudy.Asaconsequence,wecanwinthescholarshipandentertheexcellentuniversitiestodevelopfurther.Secondly,whenwearelookingforjobs,wecompetewithothersapplyingforthesameposition.Asyouknowthattherearesomanycandidatesfortheinterview.Onlywhenyouaremuchmoreoutstandingthanothers,youcanbeemployedfortheposition.Thirdly,whenwegotoacompetition,wefightwithothersforrewardsorfame.Theawardsareonlysetforthebestparticipants.

 Inconclusion,ifwewanttowinothers,thenwehavetomasterbasicskillsandbestrongerthanothers.Thus,wehavetoimproveourselvesconstantlywithrigoroustraining.Consequently,ourskillswillbeenhancedandwewillgetmoreexperiencetoavoidfailure.CompetitionplaysanimportantroleinoursocietyprogressjustasDarwin’swords“survivalofthefittest”.

Peopleshouldneverignoretheeffectexercisehasonthem.First,doingexercisecanreleaseourpressureandreduceourannoyance.Whenwearedoingsomeexercise,wewillfindthatwewillnotconcernmoreabouttheseunpleasedthingsandbefullofspiritandenergy.Especially,afterdoingexercise,weusuallyfindthatwewillbecalmerandhaveideastodealwithsometroubles.Thus,doingexerciseisbeneficialofourmentalhealth.Second,doingexerciseisgoodforretainingbodyfunctions.Asthesayinggoes,“lifeliesinmovement”,doingexerciseeverydaywillbeconducivetokeepourbodyandmentalactiveandkeepusfromdiseases.Finally,doingexerciseisagoodwaytokeeptrackwithothersanddevelopourabilityindealingwithinterpersonalcommunication.Bytouchingwithothers,wecanunderstandourselvesbetter.

人口老龄化

Withthedevelopmentofsciencetechnologyandtheincreaseofpersonalwealth,people’slifeexpectancyhasincreasedinmanysocieties.Althoughseniorcitizenscancontributeextraordinarilytothesociety,Iwouldarguethatthisdemographictrend(人口趋势)willbringaboutmanyproblems.

Oneproblemassociatedwithanageingpopulationisthatthehealthcarecosts(医疗费用)willescalate,whichwillimposeaburdenontaxpayers.It’swidelyknownthatmostmedicalneedsandcostsappearinthelastyearsoflife.Therefore,governmentshavetospendmoremoneyincaringfortheelderly,butotheressentialserviceslikeeducationwillbeunderfund.Theslowpaceofworkisanotherproblem,asthenumberofseniorworkersincreases.Theabilitytoabsorbinformationanddealwithjobswilldeclinewithage.Ifseniorworkersdelaytheirretirement,theycannotperformaswellastheyoungemployees,whichwillinfluencethecompany’sefficiencyandprofits.

Ontheotherhand,manypeoplewillpostponeretirementandextendtheirworkinglife,anditistruethattheirexperienceandwisdomareavaluableassettothewholesociety.Sincepeopleareincreasinglyawareofhealthyeatingandsports,theycanlivehealthierandlonger.Theycanworkasconsultantsandimparttheirknowledgeandskillstotheyoungergeneration.Forexample,someseniormanagerscanteachyoungpeoplehowtomanageacompanyandhowtoprovidebetterservicesforclients.Thissocietycandrawupontheexpertiseofolderpeople.

Inconclusion,thesharpextensionofpeople’slifeexpectancyhasalreadyimposedaburdenonmanycountries’healthcaresystem,andtheworkforcewillbelessproductive.Itwillinfluencetheeconomicdevelopment,althoughwecanmakegooduseofseniorworkers’wisdom.
