Intheearly1960s,manyyoungpeopleintheUnitedStatesbecamedisappointedabouttheexistingstateofaffairsintheirsociety.TheyespeciallyhatedtheVietnamWar.Theywantedtohaveachange,butdidn’tknowhow.Theycouldnotfindaconstructivewayofchangingthesocietyintoabetterone.Asaresult,theyturnedtoadestructiveway.Theyrejectedconventionalsocialvaluesanddemandedmorepersonalfreedom.Theywereagroupofyoungpeoplethinkingtheywerestrugglingagainsttheunfairness.Thisgroupofyoungpeopleindulgedthemselvesinsex,drugs,alcoholandrockmusic.Theytookpriceinwearinglonghairandunusualclothes.Theyfeltproudwhendoinganythingunconventional.Thistrenddidn’tcooldownuntilthelateof1970s.Itsoriginalpurposewastostruggleagainstthecapitalistsociety,whileitendedinapassive,negativeattitudetolifeandanabsurdstyleoflife.Weshouldsayitwasatragedyofthecapitalistworld.
