Somepeopleholdaviewthatastudent’ssuccessinuniversitystudyfollowsthesamepatternasthatoffarming,whichischaracterizedbysowingtheseeds,nurturinggrowthandharvesttherewards’process.Iapproveofthisstatement.Nopains,nogains,likethatthesayinggoes.Apersoncouldonlysucceedthroughhisownarduousefforts.Noeasyaccesstosuccessexistedinthisworld.

Themaintaskofstudentsistostudy.Studyingatregulartimecanbecomparedtosowingtheseeds,nurturinggrowth;thensuccesstoharvestingtherewards.Takemeasaliveexample.BeforeIenteredtheuniversity,friendssurroundingmeallsaidthattheuniversitywastheparadise.AfterIwasenrolledin,Ithoughtthatitwasrighttimeformetorelax.SoIneverworkedhardasbefore,onlyspentmostleisuretimeonshoppingandsurfingtheInternet.Timefliedfast,andthefinalexamscame.IsupposedthatIcouldmanagethemsmoothlydependingonmycleverness.Atlast,Isufferedgreatfailurewithoutsaying.Fromthattimeon,Icomprehendedthetruemeaningof“sowingtheseeds,nurturinggrowthandharvestingtherewards”.

Iwasdeterminedtonurturegrowththroughmydiligentstudy.Andduringthatperiod,IrealizedthatIcouldadaptetouniversitylifewell.Ispentlesstimeonshopping,butemergedintheoceanofbooks.Ibrowsedbookslikeahungrytigertobroadenmyhorizon.Andfinallythefactprovedthatitbroughtaprofoundmeaninganddirectedamorebrightfuturetome.

Sincetheancienttime,economicpowerhasalwaysbeenregardedasthefoundationofallothermatters.Nowadays,itiseasierforonetosensetheurgencyofeconomicdevelopment.Asaresult,existingcitiesaregrowingbiggerandbiggerandnewcitiesareappearing.Obviously,thedevelopmentofeconomybringspeopleabigprofit,andmeanwhilealotoftrouble.Inmyopinion,pollutionisamajorproblemresultingfromurbanization.

Everydaypeoplegothroughcars,buses,trucksandothervehicleswhichgiveoutalotofpoisonousgases.Intheofficebuilding,peoplearenearlyclosedinatindayandnightbecausetheyaresurroundedbycentralair-conditioners.Freshairisnotallowedin.What'smore,thereappearalotoffactorieswithlargechimneysinbigcities.Somechemicalgasesarereleasedintotheairconstantly;theyfurtherworsenstheairquality.

Inthepast,birdchirpping,beehummingandotherpleasantsoundcouldbeheardeverywhereintowns.Nowadaystreesarecutdown,fieldsareoccupied,andanimalshavenohomeland.Onthecontrary,machineshowl,vehicleshornandcrowdedpeoplequarrel.Onehearsnothingbutnoiseswhichbotherpeople'smindsandinterrupttheharmoniouslivingspace.

Withthedevelopmentofeconomy,people'slifetempoisgrowingfasterandfasterwiththerapidgoingofthebigcity.Peoplehavenomoretimetothinkofothers,andtheyonlycareaboutthemselves.Theycandiscardrubbishanywhere.Theyturntheradioupenoughtobeunbearabletoothers.Theycanfightagainstothersviolentlyinordertorelaxtheirbusynerves.Therefore,pollutionofthisuniquekindoccurs

Tosumup,theurbanizationhasalotofnegativeeffectsincludingpollutioncausedbyair,noiseandfastlifepacementionedabove.Besides,otherelementssuchaslivingenvironmentshouldbetakenintoconsiderationforthesakeofalong-timedevelopmentofbigcities.

EducationasaLifelongProcess

   Whenitcomestoeducation,wecaneasilythinkofschool,collegesandyoungpeople.Infact,educationissoimportantinmodernsocietythatitcanbeviewedasalifelongprocess.

   First,itistherequirementoffast-developingsocietytoaccepteducationasalifelongprocess.Ourworldischangingdramaticallywiththedevelopmentofnewscienceandtechnology.Apersonwhocompletedhiseducationatschoolin1970sor1980smayhaveencounterednewproblemswhenheisworkingnowadays.Theproblems mighthavesomethingtodowithhismajororotheraspectsconcerned.Forexampleanaccountantnowmustmastertheskillsofaccountingthroughcomputers,whichisthebasictoolsforhim,soheshouldalsolearnhowtodohisjobwithacomputer. 

   Secondly,educationcreateshumancharacterandmoralities.Througheducation,youthmaylearnhowtomakecontributionstotheworld.Andtheoldmayacquirenewthingstoenrichtheirlives.Througheducation,ahealthypersoncanbecomestrongerandadisabledpersoncanhaveanewhopeofhislife.Mancanfindgreatpleasurebylearning.

   Finally,modernsocietyhasprovidedeveryonewithvariousopportunitiestoaccepteducation.Aslongasyouwish,youcouldgeteducationbyattendingnight-schools,adultcolleges,trainingcentersandevenlong-distanceeducationthroughInternetandTV.

   Inoneword,theprimarypurposeofeducationisnotonlytoteachyouhowtoearnyourbread,buttomakeeverymouthfulsweeter.Knowledgeislimitless,andlifeislimited.Soeducationisalifelongprocess.

TheImpactoftheInternetonEducation

   TheInternetismakingtheworldsmallerandischangingeveryaspectofourlife.TherecanbenodoubtthattheInternetwillhavegreaterimpactonoursocietyandeconomy.Theimpact,inmyopinion,willbestronglyfeltintheaspectofeducation.First,theInternetprovidesequalopportunitiesforallstudents,aslongastheycangetaccesstotheInternet.Inthetraditionalformofeducation,studentswhogethighermarksintheexaminationmayenterabetterschool,andthosewhodonothavetoenterarelativelylessidealone.WiththeInternet,everystudentisprovidedwiththesamesourceofeducation,sotheycangetequalopportunitiestoimprovethemselves.Inthiscase,thequalityofeducationwillalsobehighlyimprovedinourcountry.

   Second,theInternetposesachallenge,notadangerreallytoteachers.Tra-ditionally,teachersarethedominatorsofeducation,andstudentsaresubjecttotheinstructionofspecificteachers.This,infact,mayresultinthelazinessofteachers,sincethereisnocompetitioninsuchatraditionalteachingway.WiththeInternet,astudentmayselecttheinstructionofanyteacherasfarasheorshelikesit,whichisanincentivetothefacultyofteachers.Facedwiththis,ateacherislikelytotryhisbesttoimprovehisinstructionandthiswillinturnimprovetheeducationalqualityofourcountry.

   Lastbutnotleast,theinternetmakeseducationmoreconvenientandefficientforthestudent.Astudentcanlearnatanytimehelikesand,atthesametime,savethe moneyspentontuitionandboard.Allthismayleadtoarevolutionofeducationreform.
