  Thestudy,whichwaspublishedintheJournalofPersonalityandSocialPsychologyinMay2001,"foundthatthesisterswhousedmorepositiveemotionwordsinthoseearlywritingslived8to10yearslonger,"Dannersaid.

  "Ifyou'remorepositive,somethingbadcanhappen,butyou'requicklyabletoworkthroughit,"shesaid.

  "Ifyouaskcentenarianswhentheywereintheir50swhatdidtheydo,whatyoufindisthattheytendedtobealittlebitheavierthantheaveragepopulation,theyweremorelikelytosmoke,theydiddrinkalittlebitless,butthat'sevenabitsurprisingbecausemoderatealcoholconsumptionisassociatedwithlongevity,"hesaid.
