格列佛游记读后感英文版
MyOpinionsonGulliver’sTravels
RecentlyIreadanovelcalled“Gulliver’sTravels’.AsfarasIamconcerned,itisaveryfantasticbookanditgivespeopleanadventurousfeelingtoreadthenovel.BeforeIreadthenovel,Ireallydidn’tknowanythingabouttheauthorofthisnovel.ButafterIhavereadthenovel,IlearnedthattheauthorofthisnovelisJonathanSwift,whowasbornin1667.AccordingtowhatIlearnedfromthebook,JonathanSwiftwasbroughtupbyhisuncle.
Inmyopinion,thereisacertainconnectionbetweenthebackgroundofthenovelandthesocialconditions.Takethisnovelforexample;thebackgroundofthenovelisbasedonthesocialrealityinEnglandofthattime.
IfIhavethechance,IwouldliketobeamanlikeGulliver,becauseIamgreatlyinspiredbyhiscouragementandbrave.Gulliveristheperson,whotravelsthelandsofLilliput,Brobdingnag,LaputaandthecountryoftheHouyhnhnms.Ithinkhemusthaveexperiencedmuchduringthevoyages.ThesefourvoyagesbroughtnewfuturetoGulliver’slife.
ThefirstvoyageistoLilliput.PeopleofthelandsofLilliputareverysmall,itseemsliketheanttous,andsoGulliverintheplaceisverybig.Thelocalpeopleregardhimasamonster.Fromthechapterofthenovel,wecanlearnthatpeopleofLilliputareofgreatkindnessingivingGulliverfoodanddrink.Whilehewaseating,theyhadpreparedaplatformtocarryhimtothecapitalcity.ThepeopleofLilliput,knownastheLilliputians,areveryintelligentandcleverwiththeirhands.Fivehundredmenbuiltaspecialwoodenplatformwithtwenty-twowheels.Ninehundredofthestrongestmenworkedforaboutthreehourstolifthimontotheplatform,andonethousandfivehundredoftheKingslargesthorses(eachelevenandahalfcentimetershigh)pulledhimtothecapital.Buthehasexperiencedmuch,notonlyhappythingsbutalsounhappythings.Asareaderofthisnovel,Icanimaginehowexcitinghowexcitingthevoyagewasthroughthewordswrittenbytheauthor.ThenextvoyageistoBrobdingnag,whichiscompletelydifferentfromLilliput.GulliverislikeasmallmaninLilliput,becausepeopleinBrobdingnagareverybig,

ThethirdvoyageistoLaputa.Fromthechapter,IcanlearnLaputansarecertainlystrangepeople.Theirheadsalwaysturneithertorightorleft:
oneoftheireyesturnsin-wards,theotherupwards.Theirmaininterestsaremusicandmathematics.Theyspendsomuchtimethinkingabutmathematicalproblemsthattheydonotnoticewhatishappeningaroundthem.AsfarasIamconcerned,theirlifemustbeveryboring,becausetheyhavenothingtodoexceptthinkingaboutmathematicalproblems.
ThelastvoyageistoHouyhnhnme.Ithinkthecountryisveryinteresting,becauseitiscontrolledbyhorses.Atfirst,thetwohorseshelpedGullivertodriveawayanimals.Then,thehorsesledGullivertotheirhouse.Theirhouseisverydifferentfrom
Gulliver’shouse;ithasnofurnitureandisverylow.Unlikepreviousexperience,thistimeGulliverhadtolearnhowtolearntheirlanguage.Itisverydifficulttolearnanotherlanguageinashorttime.SoGulliveronlyhadlearnedalittleoftheir
language.Honestlyspeaking,IwanttoliveinHouyhnhnme,becauseinthiscountrywhichhadnodisease,nocrime,andnowars.
WhenGulliverreturnedtoEngland,hewasdisappointedbypeople,becausetheycannotlearnfromtheHouys.Atfirst,hewashopingthatperhapshumanbeings
