Withtherapiddevelopmentofoursociety,Chinaplaysamoreandmoreimportantroleinthewholeworld.SoChinaandothercountrieswillhavemoreandmoreco-operation.AndEnglishpenetratesourdailylifemoreandmore.ArichvocabularyisindispensabletolearnersofEnglishforbetterandefficientcommunication.
Languageandcultureiscloselyrelated,eachinfluencingandshapingtheother,soitisnecessaryforlearnerstoknowthecultureinwhichthelanguagebearstheweight.CulturaldiversityhasgreatlyaffectedtheEnglishlanguageteaching.Ananalysisofproblemscausedincommunitieswithoutknowingculturaldifferencesisprovided.Theproblemsshowtheimportanceofteachingcultural.ButinEnglishlearning,vocabularyconfusesmanyEnglishlearners.Wordsarethefoundationandcoreoflanguage,vocabularyisanimportantpartoflanguage,whichreflectsthedifferencesinculturaldevelopmentandchange.VocabularylearningisthefocusoflearningEnglish,whichwillaffectlistening,speaking,readingandwritingofcapacitydevelopment.itisconsideredabigtaskinforeignlanguagelearning.
AsanEnglishteacherinthefuture,inordertohelpstudentslearnEnglishefficiently,itisnecessaryforustodiscussthewaytovocabularyteaching,andculturalinfiltrationisaeffectiveway.Duringvocabularyteachinginhighschool,teachersalwayspaytoomuchattentiontotraditionalEnglishvocabularyteachingwordpronunciation,spellingandliteralmeaning,whileignoringthewordcontentoftheloadwithawealthofnationalculture.Inordertochangethissituation,moreattentionmustbepaidtocombinecultureofEnglishvocabularyteachinginteachingEnglishvocabulary.
选题的研究现状
Englishisthemostwidelyusedlanguageintheworld.Vocabularyisthebasicunitofalanguage,andisthebuildingmaterialsofalanguage.ThefunctionoftheEnglishvocabulary,withdiversifiedmeanings,shouldbeattachedgreatimportancetoEnglishlanguageteaching.
EnglishvocabularyteachingandlearningformsanimportantpartoftheteachingandlearningoftheEnglishlanguage.RelevantdatashowthatEnglishvocabularyteachingisinefficientinChinesehighschools.Forexample,highschoolstudentsinmajorChinesecitieshavelearnedEnglishforaboutnineyears,buttheyhavenotyetgraspedthenumberofEnglishwordsandexpressionsstipulatedbytheNationalEnglishSyllabus,andtheyareratherpoorinthefiveskills-listening,speaking,reading,writing,andtranslating.Obviously,EnglishvocabularyteachinginChinesehighschoolsisbothtime-consumingandratherinefficient.ThemainreasonisthatteachersandstudentsinhighschoolhavenotbecomewellawareoftheimportanceofEnglishvocabularyteaching,andtheyarestillaccustomedtoimpracticaltraditionalmethods.Englishstillemploytheduck-fillingmethodtoinstillknowledgeintothemindsoftheirstudentswhohavefewcommunicationopportunitiestopracticewhattheyhavelearned.TakingthepresentrealityofEnglishvocabularyteachingintoaccount,weconsideritabsolutelyessentialandveryimportanttodiscussandoptimizemethodsandtechniquesforvocabularyteachinginhighschools.
Vocabularyisthelanguageofthemostactiveandmostelementsofvitality.Itcanbestembodythesocialandtimeschange.JustastheBritishlinguistputit“withoutgrammarverylittlecanbeconveyed,withoutvocabularynothingcanbeconveyed”(Wilkins128),sowecansayvocabularyplaysadecisiveroleinforeignlanguagelearning.Englishvocabularyhasrichculturalconnotations,sowhenweteachthestudentsEnglishwords,weshouldteachthemboththevocabularyandculturalmeaningsofthewords,sothatthestudentswon’tmasterthewordswithoutknowingtheirculturalconnotations.AstheChineseandwesternculturaldifferences,andsomeEnglishwordsandChinesewordscannotbeonecorrespondence,weshouldusethesewordsappropriately,andhaveagoodunderstandingoftheirculturalsignificance.Wemustattachmoreimportancetoculturalinfiltrationinvocabularyteaching.Forexample,inEnglish‘dog’isnotalwaystobetranslatedinto‘dog’.Luckdogmeansluckman,cleverdogmeanssmartkidsorcleveryoungman.ButChinesevocabularyinsomedogswithapejorative,suchasdogs,henchmanandsoon.Inaddition,thecolorwordsinthemeaningoftherepresentativeofwesternculturearenotthesame.Wesaythatthe‘black’isinEnglishblackteainsteadofredtea,brownsugarisbrownsugar,notaredsugar,blackcoffeeis‘coffeewithoutmilk’,greenhandreferstothe‘novice’,helooksbluemeanshelooksdepressed.Itiseasytocausecommunicationmisunderstandingwithoutknowingsomeaboutculturalinfiltration.

研究的创新点及重、难点
ThethesislaystheemphasisontheimportanceofvocabularyteachingandhowtotakeadvantagesofculturalinfiltrationtoenhancingtheeffectofEnglishvocabularyteaching.Istatetheculturalinfiltrationandhowitinfluencesthevocabularyteaching.
Meanwhile,itisnecessarytopaymoreattentiontovocabularyteaching.Firstly,weshouldrealizetheproblemsintraditionalvocabularyteachingmethods.Andthentoanalysisthereasonfortheseproblems.Laterwecanfindouttheefficientwaytosolvetheproblems.Atthesametime,wemusttakeapositiveattitudetoculturalinfiltration.
Thethesisisontheuniquepositiontocombinetheculturalinfiltrationwithvocabularyteaching,andreflecttheimportancetoacquainttheculturalinfiltration.Paymoreattentiontoimprovetheeffectinvocabularyteaching.Andgivesomeapproachestobenefitculturalinfiltrationsoastoenhancingtheeffectofvocabularyteaching.
