WiththehelpoffellowscientistPatrickSteptoe,theManchesterbornphysiologistdevelopedIVF—leadingtothebirthoftheworld’sfirsttesttubebaby.DrSteptoedied10yearslaterbuttheirworkhastransformedfertilitytreatmentandgivenhopetomillionsofcouples.

Itwasascientificbreakthroughthattransformedthelivesofmillionsofcouples.Theysaid,“Hisachievementshavemadeitpossibletotreatinfertility,adiseasewhichmakeshumanunabletohaveababy.Thisconditionhasbeenafflictingalargepercentageofmankindincludingmorethan10%ofallcouplesworldwide.”
