AbouttheCarpenters,卡伦卡彭特（KarenCarpenter，1950-1983）出生于美国的康涅狄克州，在世界歌坛上享有崇高的声誉。

她的嗓声优美自然，略带伤感，擅长演唱经典怀旧歌曲，卡彭特也是我国青年最喜爱的外国歌星之一。

TheCarpenters（卡朋特兄妹）是由美国人Richard和KarenCarpenter兄妹在60年代成立的,乐团一共推出了20余张专辑,几乎每张专辑的推出都登上美国billboard排行榜首位,期间乐团获得多项葛莱美大奖.至今仍有很多歌手翻唱Carpenter的歌曲,他们最有名的作品大概就是这首.,上帝总是嫉妒赋有才华的人。

1983年,Karen因为减肥而患神经性厌食症节食过度引发心脏衰竭离开人世,成为人们深深的遗憾.这一点既是传奇，又是那些批评“卡朋特”的人乐于提起的事。

卡伦其实并不胖，她更多是不愿意承认年华老去，当眼角出现皱纹时，她竟然用减肥去消除它，这也不知是属于爱美女性，还是属于超级明星的虚荣心在作祟。

在Karen的墓碑上刻着这样简单的文字：

astaronearth，astarinheaven.,Richard花了许多时间听他爸爸收集的调子美妙的音乐、乐团以及古典音乐。

他对音乐产生狂热的爱好自八岁时开始对钢琴产生兴趣就有了.到了十五岁就已经是一位天才钢琴家,什么曲子到了他手上,他都能轻松的演奏出来.当全家搬到洛杉矶后,在美国南加州大学学习音乐。

Richard和妹妺Karen和负责贝斯和低音喇叭的WesJacobs，三人组成了“TheRichardCarpenterTrio”。

Karen可以同时打鼓和唱歌.他们常在婚礼或舞会上演奏。

在他们赢得在1966HollywoodBowl的TheBattleoftheBands“比赛的名声后，他们就录了一些DEMO带并开始走访唱片公司，他们在A&M公司签下了他们的第一张合约，以及第一张唱片：

Offering，这张唱片之后被更名为“TicketToRide”，并登上Top100。

虽然Richard退居幕后但对于整个乐团的成功功不可没。

他写出了不少动听的歌曲,例如YesterdayOnceMore和TopOfTheWorld.成名之后，他整理了一些没被公司发行的歌曲来组成了一张专辑,这些歌曲全进了TOP40.例如Weveonlyjustbegun、RainydaysandMondays等等.他的直觉带来了令人吃惊的20首TOP40曲子（其中更有12首进入TOP10）,像是SuperStar、RainydaysandMondays、Weveonlyjustbegun、Topoftheworld和YesterdayOnceMore.Richard知道要如何巧妙的将乐器和歌声结合在一起。
