INTRODUCTION
Withthedevelopmentofthetimes,avarietyofnewcommunicationtoolsemergegraduallyandarechangingthelifestylesofcontemporarypeople,especiallycollegestudentswithstrongabilitytoacceptnewthings.Contemporarycollegestudentshaveshownstrongadaptabilitytothechangingworld.In1967,StanleyMilgram,professorofpsychologyatHarvardUniversity,foundedthe“sixdegreesofseparation”concept,whichsimplysays,“theseparationbetweenyouandanystrangerwillbenomorethan6persons,thatis,throughatmost6persons,youcanconnectanystranger.”Accordingto“sixdegreesofseparation”concept,everyindividual’ssocialcirclehascontinuedtoexpandandeventuallybecomesahugenetwork.ThistheoryhascreatedtheSNSsocialnetworkingandbecomesanimportantpartofcontemporarycollegestudents’communication.Intermsofideologicalandpoliticaleducationthroughnetworking,thedocumentsmostlyanalyzetheimpactorrelatedpartsofnetworkenvironmentoncollegestudents’ideologicalandpoliticaleducationandmostofthempositive.Inresearchesoftheideologicalandpoliticalworkundernewmediaenvironment,somescholarshavefocusedonthesocialmedia,likeWechat,Renrenbutlessontheoverallstudy(Zhang,2005);especiallyinspecificareasoftheresearch,moreliteraturediscussesaboutfunctionsandfeaturesoftheSNSfromtheangleofcommunication.Thereisonlyasmallpartoftheliteraturereferringtoitsimportanceinideologicalandpoliticaleducation,butnotasin-depthstudy.Previousresearcherstendedtonotethatsuchmeansofcommunicationwouldenlargecollegestudents’socialcircles,makeitconvenientforcollegeideologicalandpoliticalworkers’relevantinformationpush,understandthestudents’updatesandcommunicatewiththemwithoutleavingtheiroffices.However,theauthorbelievesthatthistrendofideologicalandpoliticaleducationthroughnetworkingsometimeswouldcontributetothechasmbetweencollegestudentsandideologicalandpoliticalworkers. 1.THEINFLUENCEOFTHEEMERGINGMEDIA
SNS,shortforSocialNetworkSite,arewebsitesfoundedonthebasisofsixdegreestheory,aimingtocreatesocialnetworksofInternetapplicationservice.TakeSNSsocialtoolsasanexample.Newmeansofcommunicationhavechangedthewayinwhichcontemporarycollegestudentshavelivedandthediversifiedwaysofcommunicationallowthemtomaintainrelationshipsintheirownway.Ontheonehand,therealisticrelationshipwithfriendsknowninreallifecouldbestrengthenedthroughsocialtoolsbyre-establishingavirtualnetworkrelationship.Ontheotherhand,students,shyingawayfromparticipatinginactualsocialactivities,wouldmakelike-mindedfriendsthroughthevirtualsocialnetworkandthereforedeveloparelationshipinreallife.Theseconvenientwaysalsobringanewproblem,namelyhowtomakeproperuseofsuchwaystomakefriends.Therearerisksinvirtualsocialnetworkingandofpeopleinvolvedwithwrongintentions.Thispresentsnewchallengestoideologicalandpoliticalworkersashowtoguidestudentstoavoidmistakes.
Theapplicationofemergingsocialtoolschangesthewaysofcommunicationnotonlyamongstudentsbutalsobetweenstudentorganizationsandindividuals(Kuang,2008).Inthepast,schoolsnewscouldbereleasedinwayslikepostingonthewebsites,whosenumberofhitsdependedonstudents’awareness.Buttheemergingsocialtoolshavealternatedthissituationsinceinformationcanbepusheddirectlytostudentsthroughthesetools.QuiteanumberofschoolshavesetuptheirownWechatplatforms,wheretheyupdatenewsregularlysothatstudentscoulddeeplyunderstandschoolnews.Atthesametime,theseplatformswillpushinformationthatwouldhelpstudentsdevelopgoodvalues,butthisbringsnewchallengestothecommunicationbetweenstudentsandideologicalandpoliticalworkers.Foronething,itisaninevitabletrendofsocialdevelopmentforcarryingoutideologicalandpoliticalworkthroughemergingsocialtools.Buttherearehugedifferenceinthesituation,contentandstudents’participationwhencomparedwiththetraditionalwayofideologicalandpoliticalcommunication.Theideologicalandpoliticalworkersarerequiredforchangingwiththetimesandactivelyapplyingthesesocialtoolstoguidecollegestudents’ideologicalvalue.Foranother,duetotheintroductionofsocialtools,the“subject”ofideologicalandpoliticalworkrepresentedbyideologicalandpoliticalworkersandthe“object”studentsdon’tcommunicationdirectly,whichrequiresideologicalandpoliticalworkerscapableofgraspingbalancebetweenthetwo.
