Inmylife,andasPresident,Ihavehadthegreatpleasureofvisitingmanyofyourcountries,andI’vealwaysbeengratefulforthewarmthandthehospitalitythatyouandyourfellowcitizenshaveshownme. Andtonight,Iappreciatetheopportunitytoreturnthehospitality.

Mostofall,Iwanttothankallofyouforbeingpartofthishistoricevent. You’vetraveledfromacrosstheUnitedStatesandnearly60countries,fromLatinAmericatoAfrica,EuropetoCentralAsia,fromtheMiddleEasttoSoutheastAsia.Andyoubringwithyoutherichtapestryoftheworld’sgreattraditionsandgreatcultures. Youcarrywithinyouthebeautyofdifferentcolorsandcreeds,racesandreligions. You’revisionarieswhopioneerednewindustriesandyoungentrepreneurslookingtobuildabusinessoracommunity.

最重要的是，我要感谢你们大家参加这个历史性的盛会。

你们来自美国各地以及世界上近60个国家，从拉丁美洲到非洲、从欧洲到中亚、从中东到东南亚。

你们带来了世界各地丰富多彩的伟大传统和伟大文化。

从你们的身上可以看到不同的肤色和信仰、不同的种族和宗教，这一切都是那样美好。

你们中间有开创新行业的远见卓识之士，也有积极创业或献身于社区建设的青年企业家。

保持身体健康。

Butwe’realsoherebecauseweknowthatovertheyears,despiteallwehaveincommon,theUnitedStatesandMuslimcommunitiesaroundtheworldtoooftenfellvictimtomutualmistrust.

但是，我们今天在此聚会也是因为我们知道，尽管我们有如此之多的共同之处，多年来美国和世界各地的穆斯林社区经常由于缺乏互信而遭遇不幸。

Andthat’swhyIwenttoCaironearlyoneyearagoandcalledforanewbeginningbetweentheUnitedStatesandMuslimcommunities--anewbeginningbasedonmutualinterestandmutualrespect. Iknewthatthisvisionwouldnotbefulfilledinasingleyear,orevenseveralyears. ButIknewwehadtobeginandthatallofushaveresponsibilitiestofulfill.

正是出于这种原因，近一年前我前往开罗，呼吁缔造美国和穆斯林关系的新开端——一个基于共同利益和相互尊重的新开端。

我知道，这一愿景不可能在一年内实现，甚至不可能在数年内实现，但我也知道我们必须开始，我们每一个人都为实现这个愿景承担着责任。

AsPresident,I’veworkedtoensurethatAmericaonceagainmeetsitsresponsibilities,especiallywhenitcomestothesecurityandpoliticalissuesthathaveoftenbeenasourceoftension. TheUnitedStatesisresponsiblyendingthewarinIraq,andwewillpartnerwithIraqipeoplefortheirlong-termprosperityandsecurity. InAfghanistan,inPakistanandbeyond,we’reforgingnewpartnershipstoisolateviolentextremists,butalsotocombatcorruptionandfosterthedevelopmentthatimproveslivesandcommunities.

作为总统，我努力确保美国再度履行其责任，特别是涉及安全和政治问题时，因为这些问题常常造成关系的紧张。

美国正在以负责任的方式结束伊拉克战争，我们将同伊拉克人民携手努力，帮助他们赢得长期繁荣与安全。

 Despitetheinevitabledifficulties,solongasIamPresident,theUnitedStateswillneverwaverinourpursuitofatwo-statesolutionthatensurestherightsandsecurityofbothIsraelisandPalestinians. （Applause.） Andaroundtheworld,theUnitedStatesofAmericawillcontinuetostandwiththosewhoseekjusticeandprogressandthehumanrightsanddignityofallpeople.

今晚我再说一遍：

尽管有不可避免的困难，只要我是总统，美国绝不会动摇我们对两国解决方案的追求，以确保以色列人和巴勒斯坦人双方的权利和安全。

（掌声）在全世界，美利坚合众国将继续站在追求正义和进步，追求所有人民的人权和尊严的人一边。

ButevenasIcommittedtheUnitedStatestoaddressingthesesecurityandpoliticalconcerns,IalsomadeitclearinCairothatweneededsomethingelse--asustainedefforttolistentoeachotherandtolearnfromeachother,torespectoneanother. AndIpledgedtoforgeanewpartnership,notsimplybetweengovernments,butalsobetweenpeopleontheissuesthatmattermostintheirdailylives--inyourlives.

在承诺美国将解决这些安全和政治问题的同时，我在开罗也明确表示，我们还需要进行其他一些工作——不断努力地互相倾听，互相学习，互相尊重。

Now,manyquestionedwhetherthiswaspossible. Yetoverthepastyear,theUnitedStateshasbeenreachingoutandlistening. We’vejoinedinterfaithdialoguesandheldtownhalls,roundtablesandlisteningsessionswiththousandsofpeoplearoundtheworld,includingmanyofyou. Andlikesomanypeople,you’veextendedyourhandinreturn,eachinyourownway,asentrepreneursandeducators,asleadersoffaithandofscience.

现在，许多人怀疑这是否可能。

然而在过去的一年中，美国始终主动对外接触和进行聆听。

我们参加了不同信仰之间的对话，举行市民大会、圆桌会议和听取意见的会议，世界各地的参与者达数千人，也包括你们中的许多人。

我必须说，也许最有创意的反应来自科威特的纳伊夫•阿尔-木塔瓦（Naifal-Mutawa）博士。

我们正在为扩大经济繁荣建立伙伴关系。

在政府一级，我提请大家注意，让20国集团主导全球经济决策给会议带来了更多的声音——包括来自土耳其、沙特阿拉伯、印度和印度尼西亚的声音。

答案很简单。

Entrepreneurship--becauseyoutoldusthatthiswasanareawherewecanlearnfromeachother;whereAmericacanshareourexperienceasasocietythatempowerstheinventorandtheinnovator;wheremenandwomencantakeachanceonadream--takinganideathatstartsaroundakitchentableorinagarage,andturningitintoanewbusinessandevennewindustriesthatcanchangetheworld.
