PartneringwithOracle,HUAWEIisassuredthebestpossiblesuccessfortheConfigurationPlatformprojectintermsoftechnology,applications,businessandprocessknow-integratedandfunctionallyrichconfigurationsolution,asisdetailedinourproposal,willallowHUAWEItoanalyzeandprioritizeitsinvestmentinproductsandservicesthataddvaluetoHUAWEI.

HUAWEIislookingforalongtermrelationshipwithapartnertoworktowarditsbusinessobjectivesandgoals.Thispartnermust:

Establishedin1988,Huaweiisacompanythatspecializesinresearchanddevelopmentoftelecomproductsaswellastheirproductionandmarketing.Withatotalsaleof1.2billionUSdollarsin1998,HuaweirankedfirstinChina'smarketshare.Itsaccessnetworksecuredseventypercentmarketshare.Amongitsover11,000staffmembers,ofwhomeighty-fivepercentareuniversitygraduates,fortypercentareengagedinR&Dandthirty-fivepercentinmarketingandafter-salesservices.Huaweithelargecitiesacross33provincesormunicipalitiesdomestically.ItalsoBeijingandShanghai.BesidesajointventureinRussia,thecompanyHongKong,Russia,theUnitedStates,theMiddleEast,African,SouthAsianandSouthAmericancountriesaswell.Itsproductssoldinmorethan11countriesorregions.ResearchandDevelopment(R&D)isveryimportanttoanytenpercentofitssalesincomeintoR&Deachyear.In1998,itsR&Dfundtotaled106millionUSdollarsandisestimatedtobe180millionUSdollarsin1999.Nowthereareover4,000expertsandtechniciansdevotedtoR&DinHuawei,ofwhomseventypercentaremasterordoctorgraduatesorpostdoctoralresearchers.Theself-developedproductsofHuaweicanbedividedintofourcategories:
