Launchedonthesidelinesofglobalclimatenegotiations(会谈)inDurban,thereportbytheUnitedNationsFoodandAgricultureOrganizationshowshowhighertemperatures,theriseinsealevels,deforestation(砍伐森林)andexcessivelandusehavedamagedthehabitatsofcertainspecies,especiallyinAfrica.
“Manyecosystems(生态系统)havealreadybeenstressedbyincreasingpopulation,historicalandrecentdeforestation,unsustainablemanagementpracticesandeveninvasive(外来的)species,”EduardoRojas-Briales,assistantdirectorgeneralattheFAO’sforestrydepartment,saidatthelaunchofthereport.
Themostaffectedareasincludemountains,isolatedislandsandcoastalareas,whichlimitthepossibilitiesforanimalstomigrateelsewhereandcreatenewhabitats.
“Theremainingpopulationsbecomeenclosedinverysmallecosystems,theyhaveinbreeding(近亲交配)problems...andattheendthesespeciesmaydisappear,”headded.
