“Manyecosystems(生态系统)havealreadybeenstressedbyincreasingpopulation,historicalandrecentdeforestation,unsustainablemanagementpracticesandeveninvasive(外来的)species,”EduardoRojas-Briales,assistantdirectorgeneralattheFAO’sforestrydepartment,saidatthelaunchofthereport.

Themostaffectedareasincludemountains,isolatedislandsandcoastalareas,whichlimitthepossibilitiesforanimalstomigrateelsewhereandcreatenewhabitats.

“Theremainingpopulationsbecomeenclosedinverysmallecosystems,theyhaveinbreeding(近亲交配)problems...andattheendthesespeciesmaydisappear,”headded.

OtherexamplesofaffectedanimalsincludedelephantsinMali,lionsintheSerengetiandcrocodilesinMalawi.

Thereportsaidanestimated20-30percentofplantandanimalspecieswillbeathigherriskofextinctionduetoglobalwarmingandasignificantproportionoflocalspeciesmaybecomeextinctby2050asaconsequence.
