AnniePeckmadefiveattemptsbeforeshefinallyclimbedtothetopofMountHuascaran.Betweenexpeditions(探险),PeckreturnedtotheUSAtoraisemoney.Shereceivedhelpfrommanyscientificorganizations,includingtheMuseumofNaturalHistory.

In1908,Peckscrapedtogether(勉强凑齐)themoneyforanotherexpeditiontoMountHuascaran.Thistime,shehiredtwoSwissguides.Ontheirfirsttrip,oneoftheguidesbecameseriouslyill,andtheentireteamwasforcedtoturnback.Aftertheguiderecovered,theysetoffagain.Theclimbwasextremelydifficult.Theweatherwassocoldthateveryonesufferedfromfrostbite.OneoftheguidestookadvantageofPeck'sdistractiontoclimbthefewremainingfeettothetopsothathecouldsaythathehadgottherebeforeher.AlthoughPeckwasangry,shefocusedonthesuccessinachievinghergoal.OnSeptember2,1908,AnniePeckfinallystoodatthetopofMountHuascaran.

Peckwas58whensheclimbedMountHuascaran,butshewasn'tdonewithmountainclimbing.Severalyearslater,shereturnedtoPerutoclimbMountCoropuna.Atthetop,sheleftabanner(横幅)thatread,“VotesforWomen.”Fortherestofherlife,Pecklecturedandwroteaboutwomen'srights,herexpeditions,andlifeinSouthAmerica.
