Adetailedstudyhasbeenmadeoftheprintsusingphotogrammetry,atechniqueforobtainingmeasurementsthroughphotographs,whichcreatedadrawingshowingallthecurvesandcontoursoftheprints.Theresultemphasizedthattherewereatleastsevenpointsofsimilaritywithmodernbipedalprints,suchasthedepthoftheheelimpression,andthedeepimprintofthebigtoe.MDayandE.WickensalsotookstereophotographsoftheLactoliprintsandcomparedthemwithmodernprintsmakebymenandwomeninsimilarsoilconditions.Onceagain,theresultsfurnishedpossibleevidenceofbipedalism.Footprintsthusprovideusnotmerelywithrareimpressionsofthesofttissueofearlyhominids,butalsowithevidenceofuprightwalingthatinmanywaysisclearerthancanbeobtainedfromtheanalysisofbones.
