Butanewstudyindicatestimeinfrontofcomputersandphonesmightnotbeasharmfulforyoungpeopleasmanythink.ResearchbytheOxfordInternetInstituteexamineddatafrommorethan17,000teenagersintheUK,IrelandandtheUnitedStates.Theirstudyconcludedthatmostlinksbetweenlifesatisfactionandsocialmediausewerenotworthconsidering,accountingforlessthan1%ofateenager’swell-being.ProfessorPrzybylski,directoroftheresearch,said,“99.75%ofaperson’slifesatisfactionhasnothingtodowiththeiruseofsocialmedia.”Theresearchfoundthatfamily,friendsandschoollifeallhadagreaterimpactonwell-being.
