WilhelmConradRontgen,aGermanphysicist,producedanddetectedX-rays,whichearnedhimtheNobelPrizeinPhysicsin1901.

Fordaysonend,heshuthimselfawayinhislaboratory,wherenothingseemedtomakesensetohimoutside,intentonthisnamelessray.Aftersevenweeksofsecretexperiments,WilhelmRontgenfoundthattheeffectiscausedbyaninvisibleraythatcanpassthroughpaperand2-3cmthickwoodandthinaluminiumsheets.Ifyouputyourhandbetweenthetubeandthescreen,youcanseethebonesinyourhand.OnDecember28,1895,heannouncedhisnewdiscovery,callingtheunknownrayX-ray.
