I'mverygladtobeheretopresentmyclasstoday.I'mnumberXcandidateapplyingfortheEnglishteacherofthehighschool.AndmytopictodayisModule1,BritishandAmericanEnglish.Togetabetterunderstandingofmyinstructionaldesigning,I'mgoingtodivideitinto6sections,thatis,theanalysisofteachingmaterials,analysisofstudents,teachingmethods,learningmethods,teachingproceduresandblackboarddesign.NowIamgoingtogothroughthemonebyone.
Thefirstandforemostistheanalysisoftheteachingmaterials.Today'slessonistheReadingandSpeakingofModule1,NewStandardEnglish,Book5,publishedbyForeignLanguageTeachingandResearchPress.ItsmainthemeisaboutBritishandAmericanEnglish,whichisquiteimportantforEnglishlearning.Studentswillmeetallkindsofaccentsintherealcommunicationactivities.So,itisnecessaryforthemtohaveabasicunderstandingofdifferencesbetweenBritishandAmericanEnglish.Atthesametime,studentscanalsolearnalittlebitmoreaboutWesternhistoryandculture.
BasedontheNewCurriculumStandards,today'steachingobjectivesareasfollows:

enablestudentstomasterthenewwordsandphrases;understandthegeneralideaofthepassage;realizethedifferencesofEnglishesintheworld.

askstudentstoskimthepassagequickly,andencouragestudentstoviewtheirideasaboutworldEnglishes.

arousethestudents'interestinEnglish;makethemhaveanopenattitudetowardsdifferentEnglishes;encouragethemtobemoreactiveintheEnglishactivities.
Giventheteachingmaterialsandthestudents'characteristics,Isupposetheteachingkeypointsarethenewwordsandphrasesinthepassage;thedifferencesbetweenBritishandAmericanEnglishinpronunciation,vocabularyandgrammar.Andtheteachingdifficultiesaretoidentifyanaccentintherealsituations.
OK,let'sturntotheanalysisofstudents.StudentsofGrade2inhighschoolhavestudiedEnglishfor10years,andtheyhavegraspedacertainamountofEnglishknowledgeanddevelopedtheirownlearningmethods.Theycancooperatewiththeirclassmatestofinishatask.Andmostimportantly,theyarewillingtolearnmoreaboutEnglishandtheoutsideworld.Allofthesearebeneficialtotoday'steaching.ButsomeofstudentsarenotinterestedinEnglishsomuch,soIwillraisesomeusefulquestionsandactivitiestoimprovetheirlearningmotivation.
Takenintoaccountthestructureofthismodule,I'mgoingtoarrangemylessonbymainlyusingtheTask-basedMethod,designsomeactivitiesandsomequestionstoimprovess’learninginterests;andthelearningMethodswillbefocusedoncooperativeandresearchedmethods,sswillworkinpairsandingrouptodiscussthequestions,throughwhichtheirabilityofusingEnglishcanbeenhanced.Duringtheteachingprocess,multi-mediacomputer,taperecorder,PPTwillbeneeded.

"Allthequestionsarerelatedtodifferentaccentsanddialects,sostudentscaneasilyunderstandthetopicwearegoingtodealwith.
Step2.Presentation
Presentationwillmainlydealwiththecontentsofthetext.Firstly,I'mgoingtoplaythetaperecorderandaskstudentstolistencarefully.Then,I'dlikethestudentstoworkingroupstodiscussthedifferencesofpronunciation,suchas"class,example..."Andstudentswillreadthepassageagain,andlisttwodifferentEnglishesinthevocabulary,spelling,grammar,suchas"colourorcolor;queueuporstandinline;petrolorgas;doyouhaveorhaveyougot..."Afterthat,IwillpickupsomeusefulnewwordsandphrasesandteachstudentshowtousethemwiththehelpofPPT,suchas"prefer,influence,flick...",and"bedifferentin,leadto,comparewith...".
Step3.Practice
TimelypracticeisofvitalimportanceforstudentstouseEnglishfreely.So,inthisstep,studentsareencouragedtodomorepractices.
1.RaiseandAnswerquestions.Inordertopracticestudents’readingcomprehension,I’dlikestudentstoworkinpairandanswerquestionsaboutthepassage,suchas:

2.Listenandanswer.Inthistask,I’dlikestudentstolistentosomematerialswithdifferentaccents,suchasprogramsfromVOAandBBC,andidentifywhethertheannouncers'EnglishareBritishorAmerican.
