Foreword

Thisforewordshallnotbeconsideredapartofthestandard,however,itisofferedtoprovidebackgroundinformation.

ASSEstandardsaredevelopedintheinterestofconsumersafety.

ThisstandardoutlinestheperformancerequirementsforAnti-siphonFillValves（Ballcocks）forGravityWaterClosetFlushTanks,anddescribesthoseperformancerequirementsintermsofmethodsoftestingapplicabletoallsuchunits,equivalentmaterialsormethodsoftestingintendedtodemonstratecompliancewiththeserequirementsarealsoacceptable.

Recognitionismadeofthetimevolunteeredbymembersoftheworkinggroupandofthesupportofthemanufacturerswhoalsoparticipatedinthemeetingsforthisstandard.

ThisstandarddoesnotimplyASSE’sendorsementofaproductwhichconformstotheserequirements.

Compliancewiththisstandarddoesnotimplyacceptancebyanycodebody.

Itisrecommendedthatthesedevicesbeinstalledconsistentwithlocalcodesbyqualifiedandtrainedprofessionals.
