Softkey–Abuttonthatchangesfunctiondependingonwhatyouaredoingwiththephone.Thecurrentfunctionishighlightedusingakeywordimmediatelyabovethebuttononthephone’sLCDscreen.Thishelpsinsimplifyingtheuseofthephone.
ProgrammableFeatureKeys（PFKs）–ThesearethebuttonsthatwillbeprogrammedbyyourSystemAdministratorintheconfigurationthatbestsuitsyourneeds.The9112modelhastwelveprogrammablebuttons;the9102modelhastwoprogrammablebuttons.Thefollowingdefinitions,describehoweachbuttoncanbeconfigured.
LineAppearance–WhendefinedasaLineAppearancebutton,theuserhastheabilitytomonitoraspecificoutsideline（FXO/DIDloops）.Withanincomingcall,alltheusersmonitoringthatspecificoutsidelinewillhavetheirphonesring.UnlessyouusetheHoldfunction,selectinganotherlineappearancelinemeansthatyouwillhanguponthefirstLineAppearancecall.ThisistypicallyaKeySystemfunction.LineAppearancehasaRingTypeassociatedwithitandmustbespecified.

SpeedDial–WhendefinedasaSpeedDialbutton,youwillhavetheabilitytouseashortcutkeytoringanynumberwhetherit’sapersonalnumberorbusinessextensionsetupbytheSystemAdministrator.
CallAppearance–WhendefinedasaCallAppearancebutton,youwillhavetheabilitytoreceivecallstargetedforyourextension.YoumayhavemultiplebuttonsconfiguredforCallAppearance,whichyoucanmanageindividually.Forexample,eachcallcanbeputonholdortransferredtoanotherextension.CallAppearancehasaRingTypeassociatedwithit.PleaseseethedescriptionabovefortheRingTypes.
Function–AprogrammablebuttoncanbedefinedasaFunctionwiththechoicesbeingCentrexFlash,Headset,PersonalSpeedDial,andRedial.Whendefinedaslineflash,youcandirectlyflashanoutsidephonelinetoaccessservicesprovidedbyyourphonecompany,suchascallforwarding,conferencing,etc.
Headset–WhendefinedasaHeadsetfunction,thisbuttonwillallowyoutotransferyourconversationtoaheadsetifconnected.
PersonalSpeedDial–WhendefinedasaPersonalSpeedDialfunction,thisbuttonwillcallyourpersonalcontacts,suchashome,asupplier,orcustomer.Theuser,withintheConfigurationmenuonthephonedefinesPersonalSpeedDialnumbers.
Redial–WhendefinedasaRedialfunction,thisbuttonwillredialthelastcallmadebytheuser.
NotUsed–WhendefinedasNotUsed,thisbuttonwillnotbeusablebytheuser.
