FormationMechanismandDistributionofPaleogene-NeogeneStratigraphicReservoirsinJiyangDepression
Abstract
DuringPaleogene-Neogeneperiod,multiplescaleunconformitieshadbeenformedinJiyangdepression,whichprovidedfavorableconditionsforstratigraphicreservoirs.Inrecentyears,variousPaleogene-NeogenestratigraphicreservoirsinJiyangdepressionhavebeenfound,andprovedreserveswererisingsignificantly,whichfullyshowedagreatexplorationpotentialforthiskindofreservoirs.Butthepracticeofexplorationinrecentyearsindicatedthattheunconformitiescarriersystemanditsabilityofsealing,petroleummigrationanditsaccumulationmodel,distributionofstratigraphicreservoirsareuncertain,whichdeeplyrestricttheexplorationdegreeofstratigraphicreservoirsinJiyangdepression.
BasedontheanalysisofalargenumberofexplorationwellsandseismicdataforTypicalreservoirs,thepaperanalysesunconformitiesconstructanditseffecttogenerationinthePaleogene—Neogene,andsummarizethedistributionpatternofstratigraphicreservoirsbasedonpetroleummechanismandaccumulationmodel.Finally,ahighlyquantitativepredictionmodclofheightofpoolsinstratigraphicreservoirswasestablished,theresearchresultseffectivelyguidedtheexplorationPra-cticeofstratigraphicreservoir.
TherearefourmacrounconformitytypesofPaleogene—Neogeneformationwhichincludingtruncation-overlap,truncation·parallel,parallel—overlapandparalelunconformityinJiyangdepression.Besidestruncation-overlapunconformityliesinslopesofdepression,andparallelunconformitydevelopedinsideofdepression,anothertwotypeslieinlocalareas.Unconformitycanbedevelopedverticallythree-layerstructurewhichincludingunconformityroofrock,weatheredclaylayerandsemi-weatheredrock.ItalsoCanbetwo—layerstructureifwithoutweatheredclaylayer.Andpartofsemi—weatherrockCanbeformahardshellaccuseofitsfillingprocessduringthelaterstage.Geologicalcharacteristicofthestructurelayerofunconformityisdifferentinlithology,mineralogy,elementgeochemistryandweatherdegreeindex.Basedonoptimalpartitionofsequentialnumberandprincipalcomponentanalysis,loggingquantificationrecognitionmethodaboutunconformitystructurelayerswereestablished,onwhicheffectiveidentificationofunconformitystnlcturelayerscanbuachievedinthecaseofnorockcore.Theformationofvariousunconformitystructuretypesis
relatedtomanyfactorssuchas,parentrocklithology,intervalofdepositionhiatus,palaeotopography,andpreservationconditions,whicharetogethertocontrolspatialdistributionsofunconformitystructuretypes.
Macrostylesanditsverticalstructureofunconformitycanbeeffectedasablocking,reservoir,traporcarriersystem.Blockingaffectiontofluiddependsonweatheredclaylayer,hardshellofsemi-weatheredrockandmudstone.Sopetroleummigrationandaccumulationunitsisrelativelyindependenceaboveandbelowunconformityifstructurelayersmentionedaboveexisted.Reservoiraffectionisduetopermeablerock,includingroofsandstone.Semi-weatheredsandstone,semi-weatheredcarbonaterock,semi—weatheredigneousrockandsemi-weatheredmetamorphic.Trap—controllingaffectionrelatedtomacrounconformitytypeanditsjuxtaposetopermeabilityandimpermeabilityrockaboveandbelowunconformity.Itiseasytodevelopstratigraphytrapswherethepermeabilityandimpermeabilitybedsjuxtaposeinatruncation-overlapunconformity,whereuppermeabilityanddownimpermeabilityinparallel-overlapunconformity,anddownpermeabilityandupimpermeabilitybedsjuxtaposeinatruncation-parallel.Transportingaffectionisowingtolateralcontinuityofpermeablerockofunconformity.Inaterrestrialriftbasin,petroleummigrationintransverseorverticalshortdistanceinlocalarea,andisnotconducivetopetroleumlongdistancealongunconformity,becauseinterbeddingpatternofmudstoneandsandstoneisdominated,anditsphysicalpropertyofmudstoneimprovedpoorly.
Becauseofthelongdistancefromresourcetotrap,migrationandaccumulationproceseisverycomplicated..AccumulationprocessofPaleogene-Neogenestratigraphictrapscanbesummarizedasfollowing:
allochthonoussourcerock,compoundtransportation,laterperiodcharging,buoyancyandpressureconversiondrivingforaccumulation,andblockingbynon-permeablelayerofunconformity,Traptypesanditsdistributionarecontrolledbyunconformitystructurestyles.PetroleumdistributionanditsscalearecontrolledbygeneratingabilityofSourcerock.Petroleumaccumulationareaisdecidedbypositivetectonicunits.Ifcarriersystemexisted,oilcolumnofstratigraphicreservoirsiseffectedbyfourmainfactorswhichincludinggenerationexpulsionquantity,migratingdistance,dipangleandcapillaryresistanceofcarrierlayer.Basedontheanalysisofsinglefactor,thepredictionmodelofheightofoilcolumuthroughmulti—factorregressionswasestablished.Basedonthemodel,thepaperdefruitedfavorableareas,whichreservesintheseareasexceed1.5x108t.
Researchresultsofthepapercombinedcloselywithexplorationpractice,andaccordingtopreviousresearchresults,31explorationwellshadbeendrilled,whichofthem17wellsweresuccessfullyfrom2006to2009.ThereisaccumulationprovedreservesWasupto2362x104t.andpredictreserveswasto3684x104t.

ThetectoniceventsfrequentlyoccurredinJiyangdepressioninpaleogene-Neogene.Itwasfavourofformingstratigraphicreservoirbecauseofexistenceofseveralkindsofunconformity.Basedonstatisticaldata,beneficialareareservoiredoilisabout9500km2,andtheremainingresourceisabout16x108tinstratigraphicreservoirsofpaleogene-Neogenestratas.Since1980s,manyoverlapandunconformityreservoirshavebeenfounded,exploredreservesWasapparentlyincreasedwithdeepexploring.Bytheendof2006,exploredresourcehadbeenupto3.7×108twhichshowedalargeexploringpotential.
But,infact,theresearchonstratigraphicreservoirislackorUttle,especially,
Accumulationpatternandforecastingmodelofoilhavenotbeenstudiedsystematically.Forexample,thesuccessfulratioofexplorationwelltestingwhichisthelowestinallkindsreservoirsWasonly35.7%aboutstratigraphiereservoirinpaleogene-NeogeneinJiyangdepressionfrom2001-2005.Themainlossreasonfortheoverlapandunconformityreservoirsexplorationismigrationandtrapofoilthatisseparently53.5%and23.9%.Hereby,oilmigrationproblemandtrapvalidityareimportantaspectsforoverlapandunconformityreservoirexploring.
Inshort,ithasthreeaspectsasfollowed:
(1)Shallowcomprehensionaboutconductionofabilityofunconformity
Researchonunconformityinpresentindicatedthatitisnotasimplesurfacethree-dimensionbodywhichisimportantformigrationofoilandgas.TherehassomedeepknowsaboutthebasinsinwestChinaandthemarinebasinsinChina.Thesystematictheoryislackaboutstructurecharacteristicwhichdeeplyaffectaccumulatingoilandgas.
(2)Theremainuncertainmigrationandaccumulationprocessofoilandgasaboutstratigraphicreservoirremainuncertain.
Stratigraphicreservoirlayinedgeofbasin.Soitisdifficulttoexactlyholdaccumulationregularofoilandgasbecausefardistancetrapsandhydrocarbonresourcesmakeacomplicatedmigrationprocess.

Exploring,toraisedrillingSuccessratio,providetechnicalsupportforincreasingoil
productionoftheSinopec,andalsoprovidereferencetostatigraphicreservoirexploringofBohaiBayarea.Researchwillenormouslydeepenstatigraphicreservoiraccumulationregularandfurtherenrichandimprovesubtlereservoirexploringtheory.

1.2.1Presentresearchanddevelopmentathomeandabroad
UnconformityreservoirisoneofimportantexploringobjectsinceLevorsenproposedtheconceptofstratigraphictrapandthenpublishedpaperon‘‘Stratigraphicoilfield”in1936.ItturnsintostratigraphicreservoirandlithologyreservoirbasedonscholarsdeepenlyresearchtheLevorsenstratigraphiceservoir.
Stratigraphictrapisformedasaresultoftheupdipreservoirdirectlycontigencewithunconformityabove.Accordingtotrapplace,accurrenceandbarrier,stratigraphicoilpoolsisdividedintooverlappool,unconformitybarberedpoolandancientbu
