Yourbrochurestatesthatthestudentaccommodationissituated“intheheartofEdinburgh”.Thisismisleadingasmyaccommodationwas,infact,situatedagoodfiftyminutesbusridefromthecitycenterinwhatIcanonlydescribeasalessthanpicturesquepartofthesuburbs.
Inaddition,theactivityprogrammedidnotreflectthefactthatwewerelocatedinoneofEurope’smostinterestingandhistoricalcities:
oneeveningactivityconsistedofawalktoanearbypark,anotherwasatriptoanarrowstreetwhichwasnotusuallyusedbycars.Finally,onouronetripintothecitycenterour“guide”readilyadmittedthatshewasnotfromEdinburgh,andhadinfactnevervisitedthecitybefore.IhadbeeneagerlyexpectingaguidedtourofScotland’streasures.Infact,Iwasleftinthecitycenterwithnomapandtoldto“checkthingsout”whileyouremployeewentshoppinginPrincesStreet.
