Well,itturnsoutthateatingchocolatemightactuallyhaveaprettysignificanthealthbenefit.AccordingtoresearchconductedbyfivescientistsinItaly,compoundsfoundinchocolate,calledflavanols,canhelpboostcognitive(认知的)performance.Yup,chocolate’sgoodforyourbrain.
Thescientists,studyingattheUniversitiesofRomeandL’Aquila,summarizedresearchfromtendifferentstudies.Thestudiesassessedpeople’sperformanceoncognitivetestsbeforeandaftereatingcocoaorchocolate.Theresultswereprettytelling:
innineoutofthetenstudies,therewasanoticeableimprovementafterthesubjectshadeatenthechocolate.Thescientistsfoundimprovementsin“generalcognition,attention,processingspeedandworkingmemory.”Soundsprettygoodtous!
