五年级英语单词音节重读
Today’stipisonhowsyllablestresscanaffectthemeaningofwords.
今天的小贴士是关于音节重音如何影响单词的意思。
Rememberthatstressedsyllablesaresaidlouderandarelengthened,andunstressedsyllablesarepronouncedmoresoftly,andoftenhavethevowelsoundsreduced.
要记住重音的音节会发得会大声,声音会延长,而非重读音节就会发得较轻,但经常是元音声音降低。
Sometimes,thisdifferencecanbethedifferencebetweenaverbandanoun,oranadjective.
有时,这种不同可以区分动词与名词或形容词。
Thereareatleast14pairsofwordsinwhichsyllablestressalonemakesthisdifference.
至少在十四组单词里面,重读音节就会区分单词。

Anotherexampleis`perfectandper`fect.`Perfectisanadjective.
另一个例子就是`perfect和per`fect,`perfect是一个形容词。

意思就是百分之百正确,没有错误。
Theverbisperfect,itmeanstomakesomethingperfect.
perfect是个动词,意思是使…完美。

今天我们来关注最普通的连音情况。
Wheneverawordendinginaconsonantsoundisfollowedbyawordbeginningwithavowelsound,theconsonantsoundislinkedtothevowelsoundasiftheywerepartofthesameword.
若以辅音结尾的单词后面跟着以元音开头的单词,这个辅音就和后面的元音连在一起发音,如同这两个音构成了一个单词。

现在听下单词“like”和“another”是如何连在一起的。
“Likeanother”,“like-another”.“Like”endsinaconsonantsound,and“another”beginswithavowelsound.
单词“like”是以辅音结束的,而单词“another”是以元音开始的。
Sothe“k”from“like”islinkedtothe“a”from“another”toproduce“kanother”.
因此,单词“like”中的“k”和单词“another”中的“a”连在一起发“kanother”.
