本篇文章将介绍快速阅读的重要性，将从三个方面进行介绍和阐述。

ReadingisoneofthefourimportantskillsinEnglishassecondorforeignlanguage,especiallyfastreading,itisalsoaskillthatthestudentsneedtopossesstosupportindependentandself-directedlearning.Withtheinformationagearrival,theEnglishmaterialsgraduallychangefrompapertoelectronicones.SoitbecomesmoreandmoreimportantforEnglishmajortospeeduptheirreadinginordertoacquireasmushinformationaspossibleeveryday.Thestudentsareabletoacquiremoreandmoreknowledgeintherapidadvancementofallkindsofinformation；Thisarticlewillintroducethatthespeedreadingtheimportance,willcarryontheintroductionandtheelaborationfromthreeaspects.

Introduction

Inthepast,itwasthoughtthatalanguagewasasystemoflinguisticsymbolsandstudentswererequestedtorememberthewordsandgrammarrules,soEnglishreadingwasconsideredasawayforstudentstoenlargetheirvocabularyandenforcelinguisticrules.Ontheotherhands,theaimofEnglishteachingwastohelpstudentspasstheexams.Soteacherswerepayingcloseattentiontothedevelopmentofthestudents’test-orientedabilities.Somestudentsmightgethighmarksintheirtests,butlackedintheabilitiestocommunicate.Thatistosay,studentslearnednothingbutsomewordsandgrammarrulesinEnglishreading.

Nowadays,withthedevelopmentofsociety,scienceandtechnologydevelopathighspeedandthecompetitioninthesocietybecomesharp.Studiesinthepasthaveshownthattheexam-orientededucationalsystempromotesrotelearning,andsothatthereneedstobeaparadigmshiftinhowstudentsvieweducationandaboutthewaytheylearn.MoststudentsreadEnglishmaterialsonlytopassexamanddonotreadforpleasure.Thus,aftermanyyearoflearningEnglish,someoneevenhasnotknownthathowimportantreadingis.
