RichardBomphreyoftheRoyalVeterinaryCollege,thestudy’sleader,believesthatmosquitoeshaveauniqueflyingmethodthatsetsthemapartfromotherflyinginsects.

“Wepredictedthattheymustmakeuseofclevertricks,asthewings__38__theirdirectionattheendofeachhalf-stroke,”hewroteinthestudy.

Hopefully,thediscoveryofthemosquito’sspecialabilitieswillbeofbenefittoengineersinthefuture.Thefindingscouldleadtobetteraircraft,orevenimprovementtotoolslikelensesorpumps.
