Abstract
Thispaper,bythewayofon-the-spotinvestigationresearch,surveysthepresenteducationsituationofagroupofspecialcountrysidechildrencalledtheLeftoverChildrenwhoseparentsarenotathome.Basedonthetwoaspectsofsocietyandfamily,aninitialexplorationandananalysisaredonetofindtheinfluentialelementsofthisproblem.Theeducationproblemoftheseleftoverchildrenisaspecialreflectionwhichhappenedintheprocessofthesocialtransitioninruralareas.Thedirectcauseisthattherurallaborworksoutsideasmigrantworkers,whichleadstothelackoffamilyeducation.However,therootoftheseproblemsisthatChina’slong-standingpoliciesoftheurbanandruraleconomicdevelopmentareuneven,andthereexiststheextremeimbalanceofthedevelopmentbetweenurbanandruralareas.Italsoleadstotheoverallqualityofthebasiceducationincountrysidefallingquitebehind.Thesechildren’seducationproblemsarejustapartofthespecificperformanceoftheunbalanceddevelopment.Basedonthesechildren’seducationproblems,thepaperfinallyconcludeswithaseriesofpracticalsolutionstrategies.

中国农村留守儿童教育问题的分析研究
摘要
本论文以实地调查研究的方式从社会和家庭两方面综合考察了农村留守儿童的教育现状,初步探索和分析了留守儿童教育问题的影响因素,并在此基础上得出结论:
农村留守儿童教育问题是我国农村问题在社会转型过程中的特殊表现。
农村劳动力外出务工导致家庭教育的缺失是该问题产生的直接原因,其根源在于我国长期以来城乡经济发展政策不均,城市和乡村发展的极度不平衡,也导致了乡村基础教育的整体质量不高,而农村留守儿童教育问题正是这种城乡不均衡发展的具体表现。
针对农村留守儿童教育问题的实际情况,本论文在最后提出了切实可行的解决策略。

Chapter1Introduction
Inthepast30years,China’sreformandopening-upplayaveryimportantroleinthiscountry’seconomicdevelopment.Withthedevelopmentofindustrializationandurbanization,Chinesecitiesneedalargenumberoflaborstodeveloptheireconomy,andthegroupofcheapvillagelaborforcesisabletosatisfythecities’needswell.However,becauseofvariousreasons,themigrantworkerscan’ttaketheirchildrentothecitieswheretheyareworking.Therefore,therecomeintobeingaspecialminorsgroup-----theLeftoverChildren.Althoughtheleftoverchildrenareintheirkeyperiodofgrowth,becauseofthelackoffamilyeducation,theslowdevelopmentofvillageschooleducation,andthecomplexinfluencefromthesurroundingsociety,thechildrenarefacingwithstrikingproblemsonlife,study,andpsychologicalhealth,whichwillmakeanegativeinfluenceontheirvaluesystem.Chinesecountrysideleftoverchildren’seducationproblemhasbeenanimportantissueofChineseruraleducation.ThisproblemwillaffecttheharmoniousdevelopmentofthesocietyandthefutureofChineseeducation,whichhasarousedtheattentionofthewholesociety.
1.1TheConceptoftheLeftoverChildren
TheLeftoverChildren,meansthechildren,atthestageofcompulsoryeducation,oneorbothofwhoseparentsgoouttobemigrantworkers,areleftaloneathometobebroughtupbytheirgrandparentsorrelatives.Theyarealwaysattheageof6to18.
1.2TheBasicInformationoftheLeftoverChildreninChina
AccordingtothestatisticsoftheAllChinaWomen'sFederation,thenumberoftheleftoverchildrenallaroundChinaisabout58million,andmorethan40millionleftoverchildrenareundertheageof14.Nowadays,theleftoverchildrenaccountfor28.29%ofthetotalnumberofChineseruralchildren,whichmeanstherewillbeoneleftoverchildamongevery4ruralchildren1.AccordingtothepertinentdataoftheStateStatisticsBureau,in2003,themigrantlaborstake23percentsofthetotalnumberoftherurallaborforces.Thenumberofthemigrantworkerswholeavehometoworkwithallthefamilymembersisabout24.30million.Thenumberofthemigrantchildren,attheageof6to14,isabout6.43million.Theleftoverchildrenleftaloneathometakesabout37.4percentsofthetotalnumberofthestudentsincountrysideprimaryandhighschools2.
Chapter2TheInvestigationResultoftheCountrysideLeftoverChildren’sEducationProblems
InordertoresearchChinesecountrysideleftoverchildren’seducationproblemconcretely,IhadmadeaninvestigationinXinhuPrimarySchoolinChizhou,AnhuiProvince.
2.1TheGeneralSituationoftheLeftoverChildreninXinhuPrimarySchool
Asanimportantminorsgroupintheruralareas,theleftoverchildrenalwayssufferfromaseriesofissues,suchasdailylifeproblems,educationproblems,emotionalproblems,andpsychologicalproblems.Forsolvingtheseissues,itisnecessarytoanalysisthespeciallivingenvironmentandeducationalenvironmentinruralareas.Intheinvestigation,astherespondents,thestudents’agesarebetween6and12.Thereare147studentstotallyintheschool.Thenumberoftheleftoverchildrenis77,whichtakesabout54.4percents,including32boys.Amongtheseleftoverchildren,53.2percentsofthemlivewithoutparents.Andthosewhoseparentworkingfarawayfromhomeoccupyapercentageof46.8.Andabout69.6percentsoftheirparentsworkinothercitiesfarawayfromhome.
2.2TheProblemsoftheLocalLeftoverChildrenSufferingfrom
Basedontheinvestigation,becauseoftheparents’absence,apartoftheleftoverchildrenarefacingwithmanystrikingissues.
First,itistheleftoverchildren’sdailylifeproblem.Inthecountrysideprimaryschool,allthestudents’homesarefarawayfromtheirschool,sotheydon’tgobackhomeforlunch.Ifthefamilyconditionspermit,oneofthechildren’sparentsorgrandparentswillbringthelunchtoschoolatnoon.However,thesurveysuggeststhatabout26percentsofthechildrenhavetobringtheirlunchwithavacuumbottleinthemorning.Usually,whenthelunchtimecomes,theirmealshavecooleddown.Becauseofthelackofparents’care,12percentsoftheleftoverchildrenareundernourishedwithbadphysicalhealth.
Second,itistheleftoverchildren’seducationproblems.Accordingtotheinvestigation,morethan70%ofthestudentsfeeldifficultinstudy.Onlyabout12%ofthemcanstudywell.About46%ofthechildrenspendmorethanthreefourthsoftheirfreetimewatchingTV,orplayingwithfriends.
Third,itistheleftoverchildren’spsychologicalproblems.Themajorcausesincludethelackoffamilycare,theabsenceofsocialeducationandtheineffectivenessofschoolsecuritysystem.Theleftoverchildrenareshortofthecarefromemotionandpsychologywidely.Theyhavenogoodlistenerstoheartheirtroublesordifficulties.Therefore,fewofpeoplecanhelpthemwell.Someoftheleftoverchildrenrefuseordislikecommunicatingwithothers.Evensomeofthemshowquitenegativeindividualmentalcharacters,suchasintrapsychicalself-isolation,flatteningofaffect,autisticbehaviorsandsoon.Disproportionalcharacterflawsandpsychologicaldisorderaretheirbigproblems.
Fourth,itistheleftoverchildren’smoralissues.Becauseofthelackoffamilyeducation,theleftoverchildrenlivewithoutpropermoralconstraints,sothatsomeofthemhaven’tdevelopedahealthylifestyleandagoodmoralcharacter.
