摘要

边沁是英国的法理学家、功利主义哲学家、经济学家和社会改革者。

本文主要研究边沁的经济哲学思想,全文分四章来论述边沁的经济哲学思想。

第一章介绍边沁的经济哲学思想产生的历史背景和理论渊源，指出英国经验主义哲学，斯密的经济自由主义思想、利息理论，阿奎那的公平价格理论（边际效用理论）和利息理论等，对边沁的经济哲学思想的形成产生了重要的影响；第二章主要阐述了边沁的经济思想的人性哲学基础----功利主义。

他极力主张最大多数人的最大幸福原则，认为，个人幸福也就是个人利益，最大幸福也就是社会利益，理解个人利益是理解社会利益的关键。

边沁将社会还原为个人，他认为社会是由个人和物所组成的一个想象的团体，社会成员利益的总和就是社会利益。

所以只要社会的每一个成员能够实现个人的利益，那么作为社会成员的结合体也就自然地实现了其利益的最大化。

但是，如果每个成员都要追求和实现个人利益的最大化，那么在此过程中其他成员的利益如何保证实现，边沁的回答是实现个人利益的最大化，要以“最大多数人的最大幸福”的实现为目标，即个人利益的最大化是动机和起点，社会利益的最大化是目标和归宿。

并且当涉及个人利益与社会利益的冲突时，边沁主张个人只能“取大舍小”地以个人利益“服从”社会利益为最后归宿。

因此，边沁的最大幸福原则实质上是一种“精致的利己主义”。

把利己主义和利他主义二者有机结合起来了。

第三章从他的经济自由主义思想、边际效用理论、福利理论、利息理论这四个方面来系统阐述边沁的经济哲学思想的主要内容；第四章主要论述了边沁的经济哲学思想对约翰•穆勒的自由主义思想、福利理论，杰文斯的边际效用理论，费雪的利息理论的形成所产生的深远影响。

这种影响主要体现在约翰•穆勒、杰文斯、费雪继承和发展了边沁的经济哲学思想，他们的经济哲学思想既有联系又有区别。

本文的创新之处在于：

首先，阐述了边沁的经济哲学思想产生的人性哲学基础——功利主义；其次，以边沁的经济论文为基础系统阐述了其经济哲学的基本思想；最后，分析了边沁的经济哲学思想对约翰•穆勒、杰文斯、费雪经济哲学思想的影响。

Abstract

BenthamwasaBritishjurist,utilitarianphilosophers,economistsandsocialreformers.ThispaperstudiestheeconomicphilosophyofJeremyBentham,thetextoffourchapterstodiscusstheeconomicphilosophyofJeremyBentham.

ThefirstchapterintroducesthephilosophyofJeremyBentham'seconomicbackgroundandtheoryofthehistoricalorigins,thattheBritishempiricistphilosophyofAdamSmith'seconomicliberalism,interesttheory,Aquinasfairpricetheory（marginalutilitytheory）andinteresttheoryonBentham'sPhilosophyoftheformationoftheeconomyhadasignificantimpact;secondchapterdescribesBentham'sEconomicThoughtphilosophicalbasisofhumannature----utilitarianism.Heurgedthatthegreatesthappinessofmostpeopletheprinciplethatpersonalhappinessispersonalinterests,socialinterestsofthegreatesthappinessistounderstandindividualinterestsisthekeytounderstandingtheinterestsofsociety.Benthamsocialrestoretheindividual,hebelievessocietyismadeupofindividualsandobjectshaveanimaginarygroupconsistingofmembersofsocietyisthesumoftheinterestsoftheinterestsofsociety.Soaslongaseverymemberofsocietytoachievepersonalinterests,thenasacombinationofmembersofsocietywillnaturallyachieveitsmaximumbenefits.However,ifeachmembermustpursueandachievethemaximizationofindividualinterests,thentheothermembersinthisprocesstoensuretherealizationoftheinterests,Bentham'sansweristoachievethemaximizationofindividualinterests,itisnecessaryto"themaximummostpeoplehappiness"toachievethegoalofmaximizingindividualinterestsisthemotivationandstartingpointforthemaximizationofsocialbenefitsisthegoalandpurpose.Andwhenitcomestopersonalinterestsconflictwithsocialinterests,Benthamadvocatedindividualcanonly"takegreatcareofsmall"personalintereststo"obey"theinterestsofsocietyasthefinaldestination.Therefore,theprincipleofBentham'sgreatesthappinessisessentiallya"refinedegoism."Egoismandaltruismtocombinethetwo.Thethirdchapterofhiseconomicliberalism,themarginalutilitytheory,welfaretheory,theoryofthefourareasofinteresttosystematicallyexpoundedtheeconomicphilosophyofBentham'smaincontent;fourthchapterdiscussestheeconomicphilosophyofJeremyBenthamJohn*Mill'sliberalism,welfaretheory,Jevons'smarginalutilitytheory,Fisher'sinteresttheoryoftheformationofthefar-reachingimplications.ThisinfluenceismainlyreflectedinJohnStuartMill,Jevons,FisherinheritedanddevelopedthephilosophyofJeremyBentham'seconomy,theireconomicphilosophybothconnectionsanddifferences.

Theinnovationliesinthis:

First,anoverviewoftheeconomicphilosophyofBenthamhavephilosophicalbasisofhumannature-utilitarianism;Secondly,thebasisofBentham'seconomicstudysystematicallyexplainedthebasicideaofitseconomicphilosophy;Finally,theanalysistheeconomicphilosophyofBenthamJohnStuartMill,Jevons,Fisherimpactofeconomicphilosophy.
